The opposite I'm afraid. Wallace & Gromit Comic and Kraze Club have both vanished. W&G has definitely folded, as BeanoMAX now claims to be the only comic starring them.
Maybe if Tesco (and other shops) had stocked DFC, it wouldn't have ended up closing.

Re: Sparky 1965 to 1973
Those scans confirm it. The L Cars cover had the same Sparky logo on it. It was the final logo wasn't it? It's used on the late 1970s annuals anyway.

Re: Roy of the Rovers, Battle, Misty and Buster back on shelves
Looking forward to the Buster one the most. Hope these are a success - would dearly love to see an Egmont version of Classics from the Comics, even at twice the price of DCT's comic... If it was in colour, I suppose it would cost £3 or £4 instead of £2. Probably why Classics isn't in colour. :( ...

It was a three page story, which I guess would've continued in the centre spread, so that would explain it.

Re: The Thing's own UK comic - yes it did happen.
Didn't know Hunt was drawing that long ago. I'd have thought if any member of the Fantastic Four had their own title, it would be the Human Torch. Surprised that the Thing had one. BTW, Cap and Iron Man now appear in Panini's Marvel Legends, along with Thor.

He still draws for the Weekly News - a couple of examples were used in Classics recently (a couple of months ago) in the Classic Artist feature. And there's a pic on this board (the thread title refers to Baby Crockett) showing one example as well. He's actually been working for Thomson's even longe...

Lew's right of couerse, both Red Wrecker and Crimson Ball were those colours because they were only printed in red and black. It no more refers to the Soviets than it does Man Utd!

Re: The Dandy 70th Coffee book will it happen?
That's recent enough to mention Beryl the Peril and the other former Beezer and Topper strips which moved to Dandy in 1993-4. And six years better than they had for The Beano. There seems to be little excuse other than the fortnightly comic's sales figures, so let's hope they do the coffee tome for ...

Are you sure? I'm sure I've seen an L Cars cover in Classics. I've just updated Wikipedia to state that Moonsters and Mummies were cover stars.

Then I'd like to see it. Is it on sale anywhere? (Second hand, of course, I realise it'll be long since out of print)

Re: The shrinking Dandy Masterhead
In response to my first reply - if the Dandy does less than 10 pages of comic strips again next issue (this issue is 9) I won't buy it any more. It's a waste of £1.99 when all you want to read is Bananaman, Desperate Dan and Cuddles and Dimples when none of them are in it regularly anymore. Dan no...

This is the first I've heard of it, which shows how bad the distribution problems are. They need to get it sorted pronto, or they'll wind up folding due to lack of sales!

Of course, in reality, he can still be seen in Dandy Xtreme every two weeks.
