Re: Talking Pictures TV
I recorded the Gambler Returns as I was watching horse racing on itv, my sister loves westerns and watched it and told me Linda Evans from the Big Valley was also in it playing a sheriff. I liked the Big Valley because I'm a Barbara Stanwyck fan but also because Linda Evans always seemed to be weari...

Re: Talking Pictures TV
I'm pretty sure it has never been repeated as I love tv westerns and would have remembered. Only seasons 1 and 2 have been released on dvd. I presume the later seasons all exist. I watched a few episodes of the dvd but was annoyed by the barbershop quartet style background singing, although it doesn...

Re: Talking Pictures TV
I have the series on dvd which I bought from a comic fair, not sure if it's one series or the complete series. It's region 1. I also have the dvd box set of Have Gun Will Travel starring Richard Boone. I picked up quite a few box sets from comic fairs but nearly all regions 1. I don't remember watch...

Re: Comics on TV
I watched that Budgie as its one of my favourite shows but didn't notice that scene. Mind you nowadays I watch TV with one eye while doing a cryptic crossword or indexing comics on GCD.

Re: REWIND TV
Channel 95. Here in London local channel London Live is showing some Spaghetti westerns including The Mercenary with Franco Nero, The Grand Duel with Lee Van Cleef and one of my favourites My Name is Nobody with Terence Hill and Henry Fonda. Saw it at the cinema when it was first released. I got the...

Re: Talking Pictures TV
One of the shows I'd like on DVD is My World and Welcome To It starring William Windom as John Munro (but really portraying James Thurber) the show featured Thurber's cartoons and showed William Windom at the drawing board. I'd also like to get The Name of the Game, an adventure series from early 70...

I've just had my email read out on Talking Pictures. It was about the Power comics and TV Century 21.

Captain Underpants - reading a previous topic I see you have issue 14 of Super DC. Can you confirm that as I'd be pleased to know it actually exists. Did you manage to acquire issue 13?

Re: What comics DIDN'T you buy today?
Went to Kempton Park Antiques Fair on Tuesday, not much of interest to me but one seller had Mighty Crusaders no. 1 from the mid 60s but wanted £18 for it. I had no idea what is was worth so passed if up. It features the origin of the Shield. Archie comics decided to cash in on Marvel's super hero s...

Re: REWIND TV
Looks like 18 September is when Rewind joins Freeview. They've put up an Oasis style date in a box on X. They're going to show the Zoo Gang too which I've never seen.

Re: The Last Great British Comic
There was a short lived comic called Meltdown (1990s?). I have a few issues but didn't really read it so can't say if it was great. I'd say Countdown but that was early 70s and there must have been something since then that qualifies.

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Can't remember the title but I have an annual somewhere with a lot of pages in the wrong order. It might be Twilight Zone Annual or Outer Limits or one of those other soft cover American reprint annuals. I see I've indexed the Outer Limits annual on GCD so maybe that one.

Re: REWIND TV
I never watched Hazell when it was first show but watched the reruns on TPTV and enjoyed it immensely. Looking forward to them showing it again. Same goes for Special Branch which was the first time the line "Get your trousers on, you're nicked" was first heard. Spoken by Patrick Mower. Everyone att...
