Re: What comics did you buy today?
You might as well put your cover scans onto the grand comics database. I've been putting them on for a few years and they add them very quickly. They have some complete runs of covers, ie Fantastic and Terrific. Comics uk gallery should be for first, last and notable issues otherwise Al will be ove...

Re: Girl with the Power
Well Jenni, I would certainly want in all cases to include the name of the artist who drew the first heading block illustration. I already have a complete list for Bunty from David Roach, whose contribution I would want to acknowledge on the front cover and the spine. There are of course ten other ...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Just bought / buying a few Jintys to fill in my gaps for the years of 1975 and 1980, fingers crossed it all works out as expected!

Re: Girl with the Power
If I were to restrict all future books to just a listing of the serials, each with a three-line summary and the heading block illustration as I did within This Was The Wizard , I could start that tomorrow for any of the other members of The Big Five and indeed all the company's titles for girls if ...

Re: What year did you start reading comics?
I think I might have read my sister's copies of Jinty before any other comic but I'm not quite sure: I suspect I might have been bought copies of Twinkle as the earliest comic of my own. If it was Jinty that was my first comic, then no, I wouldn't change a thing! We also lived in Mexico when I was a...

Re: Endings for Jinty serials
Agreed. Aside from the sci-fi stories are there many quality mystery stories??? I figure Rebellion arent going to go in for the romance and Grange Hill school type stories!!! Jinty has some mystery stories but they are more likely to be Sinister Schemes stories than mysteries really - examples via ...

(Pirated) Copies bought from ebay quite likely - otherwise Retro would have the comics themselves surely?Tammyfan wrote:They're probably scans Retro made himself (or herself?).Phoenix wrote:Would these be officially authorised copies, Retro, or am I being naive?Retro1972 wrote:I have digital copies of Misty and Spellbound

Re: Scream and Misty Halloweeen Special
Preordered (though slightly grumpy that I had to create an account on the Rebellion site - I much prefer to checkout as a guest rather than having to create umpteen accounts everywhere I go). Mistyfan, i included one for you :-) Thank you, but I have already placed a reservation with my comics spec...

Re: What comics DIDN'T you buy today?
But the pub lunch meetings these artists (and a few of we wordsmiths) held to discuss such did have a worthwhile end-product as they evolved into the formation of the Society of Strip Illustration. Initially led by John M Burns as a somewhat elitist invitation-only group, its later chairpersons inc...

Re: The Four Marys- Jim Eldridge
Jim didn't work on Blackmailed (Suzy) or Finleg the Fox. He did do some Wee Sue for Tammy though. He couldn't remember anything else specifically that he worked on. I've now down up a post on Jim as he answered some questions for me. http://girlscomicsofyesterday.com/2017/08/jim-eldridge-artist/ No...
