Jackpot Annual 1982 Christmas Cover Art

Ahhhhhhhh..... who can remember the Jackpot Annual & Comic by Fleetway Press? I do. Had the comic on order at my local newsagent, among others, and every week would run home from school to see if my mother had picked it up. It was superb. Great stories and even greater characters. Anyway, a few year...

Re: Anyone recognize the artist behind this signature?

I agree. Although I initially drew a blank trying to find a match for the signature, did notice Salvador's work looked very close to the page above. And as you know, artists do change their style, bit like how our signatures change over time, so could explain the subtle differences in his work over ...

Re: Tim Rice Eagle radio documentary

As a lover of Dan Dare and the Eagle comic, would have enjoyed that Radio 4 programme. 8)

Re: Best and worst logos

You can tell when a cover looks dull, just look at Father Christmas's expression. He'll be the one with a red nose soon. :headbash:

Wonder if the art is by Martin Salvador. His work looks very similar.

Original Red Dwarf Smegazine Art

As a bit of a memorabilia Magpie, I love to obtain things that catch my eye. Here's some of my Red Dwarf Smegazine pages owned. The two pages are mixed media, They have been penned, coloured, with a plastic cell overlayed with speech-bubble dialog. Both are from 1992 and are signed by the famous Eag...

Hey, cheers colcoo007. Yeah, It's so easy to wander off topic when someone's interested in what memorabilia you've got. Especially when you are passionate about a subject, in my case collection comic art, and want to share some pics. I promise not to wander too far. 👍

Re: What comics DIDN'T you buy today?

Was hoping to bid on a 1938 Dandy comic on ebay today. Philcomics was selling it. See, I went into the kitchen to make a sandwich and as I came into the living room, tea in one hand, sandwich in tother, the ruddy listing ended. Bloody cheese & pickle sandwich, I thought. Mind you, it did reach a eye...

Re: Best and worst logos

Best, the Eagle Comic logo. Worse, the new Beano logo. What possessed them, and why did they turn it into a glossy magazine you'd find in a dental surgery? :(

Re: Hi!

As a newbie myself would like to say, welcome to the forum. Great taste in comics too. Got leads of vintage Dandy & Beano comics in my collection. Most are from the late 1940s. Got some from the early to mid 40s too. And a handful from the late 1930s. :)

Re: Howdy!

Hi again Shiner! I agree. Know exactly what you mean. Initially I was a bit nervous, as you are in these situations, and when I got a reply, all the doubt and worry ebbed away. She was so kind and put me at ease. I've been in regular contact with John Bolton's lovely wife & business manager for the ...
