Re: Ebay - you want how much for it???

Here is one from eBay Australia. Yes, I am continuing to buy back issues of the Dandy, but not at this price. (A grand for this lot?) https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DANDY-COMIC-COLLECTION-65-ISSUES-1977-TO-1979-KORKY-THE-CAT/142683395429?hash=item213897d565:g:5jIAAOSwSPBaVAY9 When I see prices...

Big Eggo returns!

Big Eggo, the original cover star of The Beano makes an unexpected return to the weekly this Wednesday in a new series of mini-strips (inside the comic this time, not on the cover). I'm the writer/artist and it's an honour to work on such a classic character! More info here: http://lewstringercomics...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Nice find! I can't tell from the photo, but are they flat or embossed? They are mainly flat with a little embossing. They all have two tags at the bottom which you bend to let them stand freely. Here are some more pictures from the listing as they won't arrive for a couple of days yet. I've already...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

I also picked up some great early DCT comic gifts I almost forgot, I also managed to get the complete set of 6 DCT Adventure tinplate ships from 1927. 6 bids from 4 bidders in the last 15 seconds made it all the better to win these as although I've known about them for some time via Derek's book, I...

Thankfully the TV ads had the foresight to use lower case for the acronym. Putting an upper case L next to an I is just asking for trouble.

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Carrying on the newspaper theme, Daily Express No1 from Phils Comics. It’s in poor condition but at least an original (there’s a replica that is fairly easy to find online). My small newspaper collection is a spin off of my comic collection, from the days of trawling second hand shops back in the 8...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

issue 1 of Jag with free gift.i will not bother trying to collect this as it doesn't look very interesting  Jag was the first Fleetway comic I had regularly. I wasn't aware of it until a few weeks into its run, when my grandad bought me a copy. I loved it! Admittedly, it's not up there with Va...

Re: Reprints from Tammy and Jinty are on their way this summ

It is exciting stuff! As someone that hasn't read a lot of IPC stuff (except for Misty) I'm excited to get my hands on some Tammy and Jinty stories. And I hope Rebellion does succeed in finding missing material and give us Cora Can’t Lose and the other unfinished Tammy stories in full! Even if they...

Re: Full 2018 schedule for Treasury of British Comics

It's quite a varied selection and lets face it, it's been years since British comic fans have had this good. Surprised though that there is nothing front Action comic or Roy of the Rovers Yes, I would have expected books for Dredger or Blackjack. Perhaps next year. Replying to myself (and to wilsia...

Re: Full 2018 schedule for Treasury of British Comics

yeah I am wondering what they will do with Jonny Red I am contemplating getting the other Titan volumes as they are quite handsomely done, (more so than Titans Charleys war) but I dont want them to stop reprinting halfway in. As far as I know, Titan won't be doing any more Battle reprints now that ...
