Re: Poot comic is back...
Just recently got all seven issues of the relaunched Poot! through their website, and enjoyed them very much. Very silly, cute almost. Nothing like Viz in the slightest (not that I've got anything against Viz - I love Viz!)... People who like the new Dandy comics would find a lot of enjoyment from t...

Good evening
Hi everyone, Just joined up this evening, should've gone to this bit before the other bits, but there we go, hello! Lifetime comic-reader, collector and so on. Always loved the Beano, as well as pretty much any other UK humour titles - with a particular fondness for the many Viz rip-offs (the worse ...

Re: BIG Comic Fortnightly
After DCT's Classics from the Comics failed, I'm afraid your suggestion is highly unlikely to ever happen. I wouldn't call a twelve year run a "failure" It'd be nice to have a weekly/fortnightly/monthly (!!!) Fleetway reprint anthology comic, sure, but when they're all so cheap on eBay and a...

Re: Desperate Dan Ladybird Books
Ah, I'm sure I've got Diamond Disaster somewhere! Published around the same time as Ladybird did Dennis The Menace's Worst Joke Book Ever - still got that, could pick it off the shelf right now. Not so sure about the Desperate Dan one though.

Re: Longest running Beano reader & the one with the most iss
I DID have every single Beano and Dandy (and all the specials as well) from 1992-2000, but during a house move, around 80% of them went missing. Been SLOWLY rebuilding that collection ever since, and today it got a massive boost of around 300 issues, bringing me up to around... 500-something?

Re: Whatever happened to Wayne?
Techno was another one who was introduced then dropped about a year later. He was a new science teacher, mind, but still a "kid" - actually, I think he was a cyborg, wasn't he?

Re: Dennis the Menace and Gnasher - the Pink Glove
Remember that OTHER story arc, where Dennis replaced Gnasher with an escaped panther? Can't remember how long it ran for, but when I first started getting the Beano (1992), I think it was half way through...

Re: The Trial of Dennis the Menace
I've got NO chance of getting to London before it's over, but to anyone who DID go, I'd like to know... What was it??
Was it people in costumes? And if so, did they have big Frank Sidebottom-like heads or just make-up and wigs?
I'll be looking on YouTube, wonder if it'll tour?

Re: Fizz
Not sure where my copy of Fizz has gone, it was there before I moved house, but wasn't afterwards (Hmm...). Anyway, from what I remember, it came out around 1995-ish, got it from Kwik Save on the way home from school as a "Friday treat". Loved it at the time, but a few years later I realised a LOT o...

Am I clicking the right thing there? The link you posted (for purchasing) took me to an American store, which was about to charge me $15 for postage! Found the "right" one via your Facebook page, here: http://www.freewebstore.org/index.aspx?pageid=1215599 Hope this helps, looking forward to reading ...

Re: TRIFFIK! Anyone remember it?
(Hi everyone, just joined up today...) I'd never heard of this one until it was mentioned in a comics discussion, on another forum somewhere. Curiosity got the better of me and I now have the first two issues, but if I'd've read that Comics International article first (thanks for posting that by the...
