Re: 2024 Annual previews

I was in WH Smiths a couple of days ago and looked at the annuals. I was alarmed to see the softcover black and white Broons book was the same price as the hardback full colour Beano book at £11.99. Is that a mistake? Have they erroneously allocated the price for the best of Broons/Oor Wullie hardba...

Re: Max Miller

Wally was very good at drawing in the style of other artists so would fill in on strips when the normal artist was away.

Re: 2024 Annual previews

Off topic but a few days ago I was sitting at a bus stop at Deptford Bridge when the Beano Afternoon Tea Bus passed by. Looking online I see it's only available for a few weeks. It's an old Routemaster bus. Wish I could have got my phone out in time to video it.

Re: Max Miller

I have hundreds of rough Film Fun strips drawn by Wally Robertson. At first I thought they were roughs before submitting the completed art but later realised they were scripts which editors preferred to be submitted sketched out. It looks like he submitted scripts for just about every strip includin...

Re: DC Thomson cut 300 jobs and close down some titles

I always see them in Smiths at Lewisham, I subscribed for a few years but they started to take over my bedroom, would have preferred to subscribe for only the new issues and not the reprints.

Re: Star Wars UK Monthly Comics Prices Marvel

Wasn't aware Infantino had drawn Star Wars, he's one of my top five American artists alongside Kirby, Ditko, Gil Kane and Gulacy.

Re: GCD indexing anomaly

As I said the Beezer pages are numbered and the inside back page is numbered as 15 but those four centre pages are not numbered. I agree with Al and am tempted to alter that indexed issue that is currently 20 pages to make it 16 pages but wonder if the original indexer would take umbrage. I have add...

Buster's hair

Looking through some early Busters I came across this 1963 issue where Buster removes his cap.

Re: Star Wars UK Monthly Comics Prices Marvel

I appreciated the Al Williamson Star Wars strips. Bought the squarebound softcover collections. Don't think I read them though.

Re John Wayne I believe his voice was used in A New Hope as a mosquito type character. According to a story released in May.
