D.C. Thomson: The curse of the REPRINT!

Ha - reading this is giving me that feeling of camaraderie.. I also have had to pay my biggest tax sum (for a good year in 2004-05) out of my earnings for a poor year (2005-06). Thankfully this year is looking better, but jobs are only just coming in on time to keep me afloat. I've had to pass on a ...

?150 must mean licensing of the rights rather than ownership of the rights, and the amount may reflect the low commercial level of the publishing enterprise.

Old comics fanzines

Also want to add my appreciation for your fanzine overview - really interesting. These were a bit before my time - I didn't get into fandom until 1984, but managed to collect a few back issues of some of these titles at Westminster and so on. Thanks again, your blog is proving an excellent read on e...

I thought Alan Moore just did the plotting. The words in speech bubbles is by Leah and John, isn't it?

News and what's happening

(received safe and sound colcool!) January always seems to kick off with something nice for Rainbow Orchid. After being linked to by Warren Ellis yesterday, I've also just read the latest Fool Britannia column to see Rainbow Orchid has been honoured as joint winner Fool Britannia Webcomic of the Yea...

Love Nemesis - including Bryan Talbot's run (and the 'lost' book 2 by Redondo). Got all the old Titan books (blimey - 9 volumes!).

What does the new vol 1 include?

New blog!

Blogs, generally, are good. The web has moved on, and where most people used to have a 'home page', they now have a blog. It's just a new format. There are a lot of blogs that are not good to read, especially those that are angst-ridden or complainy, but most are harmless, interesting, fun and even ...

I have recorded a short (12 minute) audio message as a little thank you for all Rainbow Orchid readers.

You can listen to it here.

May appear sexist, but bear with me.

From my limited understanding of these things - and obviously this is a spam message with that URL - if you click on them, spam bots/spammers recognise the forum it came from as one that works and it can increase spam to the forum. So I'd recommend not clicking on anything that is a spam message. Al...

Victor - True Stories of Men at War

That's very good of you colcool - but sounds a lot of work that way round! Perhaps I'll just keep an eye on ebay and see what turns up...

If anyone can make a positive issue identification, that'd be fab.
