Re: Dark Shadows

I went to see the film last night and I went in with an open mind. I also like Johny Depp and due to my age, have horribly only heard of Dark Shadows in reference to this new film. As a film, I actually found it a good laugh and enjoyable, its no oscar winner to be sure, but, enjoyable and certainly...

Re: Greetings!

Please do give me a invisible slap for even suggesting it, but, I might actually try and get the (shocks himself from even saying it), the Dandy Extreme! My reason being, assuming the Dandy does survive as well as the Beano, it is part of the Dandy comic history. I occassionally see them on the mark...

Re: Dandy comics post 1970

Thanks Dandy Mad! Lately, I've had a bit of an odd interest with the Dandy, although some cheap copies of 50s comics have been up for grabs, I would rather have some missing copies from the 70s! Probably something to do with the insane collector in me, but, I really want to finish off the 70s then m...

Re: Greetings!

I am debating buying copies from 2005 onwards plus the new ones, despite my dislike of the extreme years, it's all part of its history I guess!

Re: Greetings!

Sadly not! I never quite got on with those to be honest. Had a few in the past but sold them on.

Re: Duplicate photos in the Beano - and other surprises

Sorry, I meant those who had written into the comic, the prize winners, those who starred in pictures for their collections etc.

Do you have a spare copy of the first Dandy new logo one? I actually have the free thunderbang gift but not the comic!

Re: Beano and Dandy competition 1952.

Did you ever find out what it was? I've only got three issues of Dandy from 1952, the only reference to big prizes I have is Cowboy togs, but, it's "find out more next week!" and I don't have the following weeks issue!

Re: Dandy No.500

Woops! Only 6 years late in reply to this, but, I bought my copy without seeing the cover from the Book and Magazine cover. I was really disapointed when I got it though! I was expecting a big birthday cake on the cover or atleast much more than just a simply "500th Issue!" reference at the top of t...

Re: What Dandy Character Would You Like Back?

I can't quite recall if one came from Hoot or from Nutty, but, in the early issues of the combined Dandy and Hoot/Nutty, both the parents of Cuddles and Dimples appeared! After a while though they just vanished! I assume one was adopted? Funny thoughts when looking back at these comics! I would actu...

Re: Duplicate photos in the Beano - and other surprises

At a push this is related, but, I've always been intrigued at who owned my comics and annuals in the first place. Although I'm sure it is VERY unlikely to belong to great comedian himself, I have an early 1950s Dandy with "This Book Belongs to Benny Hill"! I've also wondered if there have been curre...

Thanks Baby Boomer! At times I do think to myself that I must be crazy! On the other hand though, I want to hit the next milestone of 2,000 comics!!!
