Re: In Search of "Clever Claire"
Hi all! I'm still around! Yes! "Clever Claire" `was` drawn by Bob Mau. It`s originally title is `Kari Lente` and it began in `Gazet Van Antwerpen` on 12 July 1962. It ran to 1994 in various European magazines. You can buy the `albums` as they term them; on E.Bay. So good to finally track this strip ...

Re: Search for Story in Annual
It means sloppy writing. Someone came up with an idea for a story but they couldn't be arsed to give it any credible denouement.

Luckily-I still have that edition (31 Aug) of the Beano where Gnasher debuts. He looked a bit different at first.

Halfway through 1970 the `Teacher` changed from the goofy looking character in Mortar-board to grumpier looking fellow `sans` headgear-anyone else notice this?

Re: Ebay - you want how much for it???
Lew! Some `sellers` just hope that some buyers have more money than sense! There is a seller now on E.bay who has been putting up a 1960s `Beezer` with `Spinner` gift that he's been putting on for at least three years now!! He's reduced price (to £280) from its £400 plus when first put there-but he ...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Not a comic as such- but I got another `Sparky`free gift on E.Bay- a 1966 "Bizzy Buzzer" was £50 which I daresay is a lot to some- but a few years back; I was outbid on one by `Mon-El` on E.Bay and I had gone up to £225 then!

Re: Favourite Junior book!
Sounds fascinating Steve! I once had a School copy of `Alice in Wonderland` also 1967 like you. but I eventually returned it in about 1973 when I was working! They were just glad to get it back- said no more!

Favourite Junior book!
Please post your favourite books you read as a youngster - any topic is fine. My own personal favourite came about via a 1966 `Jackanory` story titled "The Forgotten Door" (Read by actress Betty McDowall) This story so intrigued me that I managed to get my local Library to get a copy! I truly loved ...

EUROPEAN strips in UK `Fun` titles!
I don't know if there were many, but I can recall a few European originated strips in DCT `Fun` titles! In Topper in very early 60s was the Scandinavian "Katsenjammer Kids" only half page I think. In Sparky, in its first year (1965) was "Minnie-Ha-Ha" which Ray Moore (Kashgar) thinks is French in or...
