Good news! Apparently the rights for Ghost Rider (and Blade, and Daredevil) have now reverted to Marvel Studios. I expect they'll wait a while before risking a Ghost Rider reboot, though.

Re: currently on at the 'pictures':

From what I hear, that post credits scene is just a cameo from... Gaaaaaaaaah! Spoilers! I saw the post-credits scene with no idea what it was going to be, so it was a very nice surprise (and works well in context of the film too). I agree with Lew - I thought it was a fine romp in the merry Marvel...

Re: STRIP Magazine relaunches next Monday! (April 8th)

My sub was waiting for me when I came in from work this afternoon. And, typically, just as that is announced, the distributors email to say they have moved the on sale for this issue to Friday 10th because of the bank holiday... rats! I've never known a Bank Holiday Monday to affect distribution of...

Re: STRIP Magazine relaunches next Monday! (April 8th)

As a matter of interest, does anyone else remember the first Strip Magazine from the early 1990s? - Phil Rushton Yes! I bought the first two issues when I was just a BIT too young for it (11 or 12) and stopped buying out of fear that my parents would find it! Wish it was still around today. And Tox...

Re: Cheap and Cheerful

I would've gladly paid £3 instead of £2 to have Classics from the Comics in full colour magazine paper. They made a mistake not trying that. It would've allowed everything to appear as originally published too. Me too. In fact, I'd pay £5 a month for that, or £3 a month for it in its original forma...

Re: STRIP Magazine relaunches next Monday! (April 8th)

Don't want to sound pessimistic, as I love the comic and wish it nothing but good things, but whoever decided how many copies each WH Smith gets in has been somewhat... optimistic. For WH Smith in Wigan to shift all the copies they have of #1, it'll have to outsell 2000 AD, Megazine, Clint and The B...

Re: Prog 1830 - Retro Cover

Nope. I don't think either Rebellion or DCT participate in that? Rebellion do, but this smashing retro cover isn't anything to do with that. Rebellion are giving away a 48-page 2000 AD sampler, with new Judge Dredd and Zombo stories: http://www.freecomicbookday.com/Home/1/1/27/1042?stockItemID=STK5...

Hmm, this has the air of "GREAT NEWS FOR ALL READERS!" about it. Not that I'm suggesting it'll be merging with The Beano as I highly doubt that, but I have a bad feeling about what the news will turn out to be.

Re: What comics did you buy today?

I recently found my copy of the "Loadsa Funnies" book released to tie into ITV Telethon '88, and that contains a Scare Bears strip - same characters - and was DEFINITELY released in summer 1988. I can scan it if you like? The bottom of the strip states "Scare Bears (C) Superbear Ltd", and signed by ...

Re: Comic Relief Comic 1991

I was delighted to find my copy of the Comic Relief Comic in my parents' attic recently (along with many other treasures from 1986-96 -too many to bring back home with me, alas). I thought it was long gone. Comic Relief's a worthy cause, but what particularly irked me this year was the hypocritical ...

On the contrary, I'm sure DCT will be absolutely delighted with that coverage. And where do you think the Independent got the cover image from?

Did issue 2 of Buttons comic come with a free yellow button?

Now HERE'S a question for the Comics UK hive mind... I was just browsing some of the covers on Comics UK when I chanced across the first issue of Buttons, the long-running comic for the very young based on BBC programmes. Until today, I'd always thought my first comic was Buttons #2. But having look...

Re: Titan Comics are coming

Interesting stuff - especially if they end up on the shelves of UK newsagents. A CLiNT-style anthology title would be amazing, if highly unlikely. Sort of on-topic - did Titan's much-publicised Family Guy comic ever see print? I've search online but can only find press releases announcing its launch...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Bought the most recent three issues of CLiNT on eBay for pretty much the price of one new issue. (Had a bit of a freak-out a few months ago and realised I couldn't afford to buy comics for a while, trying to plug the gaps now.)
