I think all the U channels are owned by the BBC which is why so many old BBC shows are on them. Porridge, Last of the Summer Wine, New Tricks etc.

I don't really think of seasons re tv shows. I grew up watching UNCLE and just love the format, stories, characters and gadgets. You weren't aware of seasons back then. It's only nowadays where the EPG gives you - eg. S3 E8 that it enters your mind. I don't recall a duff episode though. Watching ...

Maybe they meant season 3 which was basically a comedy series. The producers got the message and reverted to straight spy stories with season 4. Although still with some tongue in cheek.
