Re: tracy comic

I think that was pretty much it for D.C Thomson comics. Except for the more teen ones like Jackie, Cherie and Romeo

Re: Comics changing sizes...and what the effect was...

It seemed to be the opposite for some girls comics. Both Bunty and M&J actually ended up being larger in size than older issues! The Bunty change was when it moved to glossy paper in the early 90s. Also M&J used to print classic Mandy or Judy stories and I just noticed there was a particular large f...

Re: Credits in Comics

I know uncredited artists/writers would still be in the majority but it seems it wasn't completely uncommon to have credits in old comics, interesting!

Credits in Comics

I know Tammy ran credits in its comics for a while which is how a lot of artist are recognised from other strips. I don't own any Tammys so just wondering were the writers credited as well or just the artists?

Also was there any other comic that credited people for any period?

Re: A History of Girls Comics

I recently did a blog post on this too: http://girlscomicsofyesterday.com/2012/02/book-review-the-history-of-girls-comics-susan-brewer/ It is enjoyable, but I do agree with RuthB it is disappointing that there isn't any information on the artists also I didn't find the Part-Works chapter a necessary...

Re: Moonchild

Yes Pat Mills has openly said it was based on Carrie. John Armstrong of course! I actually knew he drew "Bella of the Bar" but didn't make the connection straight away, it was annoying me because it looked so familiar!

Thanks for the quick replies :)

This was a great story, I know Pat Mills wrote this, just wondering who was the artist though?

Secret of the Acorn?

Wondering if anyone can help with this story, someone is trying to track down; " it was called something like ‘The Secret of the Acorn’ and it dealt with secret inheritances, hidden rooms, and a girl who came to a house as a servant and couldn’t understand why everyone was mean to her. She also fell...

Re: Guardian article: The Dandy Faces Closure

I would think with all the media its getting that the last issue at least will be more widely available in shops. Particularly when it is reprinting the 1st issue along with the new stories.
I wasn't a regular Dandy collector, but I would be interested in picking up the last issue.

Bobby Dazzler in Judy

Does anyone know when Bobby Dazzler first appeared as the cover strip for Judy?
