Re: Scouse Mouse / Ace comics
Blat's completely new to me! Any chance of a look at what it's like on the inside? I loved my Were Bear as a kid, going to be on the lookout for the comics... They also appeared in another comic called Z (a comic tie-in with Toymaster I think?), although in an unofficial form. I posted some scans fr...

Re: Comics on TV
From Alexi Sayle's Merry-Go-Round (1998) - a few issues of Spit and Zit and the like can be seen on the top shelf to the left of Alexi's head:

Re: Ebay - you want how much for it???
I'd expect it to go for at LEAST half - it's out of print, and obviously frustrating for those who missed it. Compared to the prices on Amazon Marketplace it's a fair price.

Re: What comics did you buy today?
That's another good book if it's the one I'm thinking of. Saucy Postcards?
Got it for £3 from a book clearance shop (The Works)... Then went back and got another as an Xmas present for someone

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Just picked the book up for 2 pounds 80 on e-bay. inc postage second-hand. That's cheaper than the current comic, which is 3 pounds 25, I think...... Fast worker, eh, readers! Brilliant companion to the comics what I remember of it. THB: your info helped me a lot to pinpoint that particular book. T...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
I'm envious, it'd be great to re-discover Viz all over again
There's a book called The Big Hard One (usually less than a fiver on Amazon) that collects the contents of most of the first 12 issues, the REALLY early stuff is unlike anything else out there...

Re: Scouse Mouse / Ace comics
Yep, that's the one - I also got the first two issues of another George Nicholas comic called Wanted, which features such characters as Budgie Malone, Owl Capone, The Swiney and Inspector Spectre.

Relaunching Big Comic Fortnightly or the BVC or something similar along those lines would be a wonderful thing.

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Early Viz is fantastic, you're going to have a great time - I got "The Sausage Sandwich" and "The Dog's Bo**ocks" from a car boot sale when I was far too young, and our auntie used to read us Spoilt Bas*ard (changing the swear words though, he became "Spoilt Brat"), so it's sort of "been there" thro...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
There's no denying Simon Thorp's ridiculously (scarily even!) talented, but even that Sh***ish Islands map was nearly twenty years ago! There was another one a few years after that, a map of "C*ntinental Europe"... The art's still good in Viz, but the writing's took a massive nose dive over the last...
