Re: Full 2018 schedule for Treasury of British Comics

Charlet's War is good - I've read some of it but we stalled on buying the hardback glossy reprints. If the newer editions are nice and thick and not too dear then we might get ourselves a complete run for this household via that. Also I am thinking that I will buy some of the Treasury items for my ...

Re: Full 2018 schedule for Treasury of British Comics

Also I am thinking that I will buy some of the Treasury items for my kids' school library, to give other kids a chance to enjoy them too. I would suggest, Jenni, that you raise your generous offer with both the head and the librarian before shelling out any of your hard-earned, as it is perfectly p...

Yes, I would have expected books for Dredger or Blackjack. Perhaps next year.

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Sadly there are very few Radio Fun cover images on Grand Comics Database. I found a couple of the Radio Fun comics for sale on 30th Century Comics, so I asked them to send me some pictures. Sadly they wouildn't, not cost effective apparently. There was me thinking they were comic sellers. Issues of...

As stated above, they're paperbacks. Quite thick at £20 (cheaper on Amazon) sounds reasonable to me.

Re: Full 2018 schedule for Treasury of British Comics

Brilliant news! Great to see Jinty and Tammy getting reprints and also three volumes of Charley's War. The third volume of Misty with Wolf Girl is also very welcome! I wonder what other stories will be in there with it? I'm guessing it may be a selection of the many complete stories that appeared i...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

24 pages although this copy has eight pages missing. Only paid 50p for it so "mustn't grumble" (Lazy Sunday). It has a full colour comic strip as the centre spread. Art looks Harry Lindfield-ish. Thanks, Lew. Who knows, my missing eight pages may be the selfsame ones missing from one of your Eagles...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Back to acquisitions, on Saturday I also picked up a booklet: Roger Moore Tells you how to be a Detective. It is cut out from the pages of a comic. I would guess it was Boys World. Can anyone confirm? It was in Eagle Vol.15 nos.8 and 9 in February 1964. Not sure if it ran to any more issues but def...

No, didn't see that. That's an excellent price! My Viz pages tended to go for around £100 to £160 although I haven't sold any for a year or two.

i completely forgot about those  but i hope i'm wrong viz is in trouble if it has to resort to free gifts.
Sales have fallen (just over 48,000 per issue in 2016, the 2017 figures not in yet) but no sign of it being in trouble yet.
