Re: What comics did you buy today?
Well Moniaive was a roaring success as far as I am concerned unless you happen to be my bank manager. The family haul was many and varied, so I am going to stick with the highlights. Meltdown Man trade paperback 3 Commandos (Divided Aces, Black Ace and Green For Danger) Another pile of Rising Stars...

Re: What's the most you've spent on a comic/collection?
Most on any single comic was £1.5k on a very nice cents copy of Amazing Fantasy #15, but that was when I was actively dealing. I've spent a lot more on various collections but again that was solely to buy and then resell. For things I want to keep I tend not to spend very much at all really. I like ...

Re: Most successful ever British comics creator?
Re: Bisley, I can specifically remember him mentioning in an interview ages ago how much he was getting for covers. I was quite shocked at the time.

Re: Most successful ever British comics creator?
Actually thinking about it, someone like Chris or Simon Donald, creators of Viz could be up there?
i know they quit the mag in the early 2000's but I'm pretty sure they'd made a few million at least out of it.

Re: Most successful ever British comics creator?
I'd assume it'd have to be someone who managed to keep hold of their own creation and went syndicated across the world. Practically anyone really famous that I can think of, like Watkins, Baxendale etc was working on characters they didn't own and didn't see the riches from. Not to say they weren't ...

Re: Wish Lists...
I did see the TV Comic but it was in rather bad shape if I remember. I can't see TV Tornado 59 on eBay, but if you can direct me to the link that would be much appreciated! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TV-TORNADO-COMIC-LOT-OF-23-1967-1968-/252410084229?hash=item3ac4d03b85:g:5ewAAOSwInxXNG~Y The #59 us...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
I've bought full sets of 2000AD a few times, when both sets were well into the #1000s - but I don't think that's uncommon, also a full set of the Eagle (old series), TV21 and a fair few others, though this was when I was actively dealing so I don't really think they count. Bicarbonate of soda is ver...

Re: OINK! 30th anniversary
In retrospect it had so much going for it, yet at the time I agree that the whole 'pig' theme seemed strangely off-putting - like a running gag that gets old much too quickly! Yea that's exactly it. Like there's a Dr Who fanzine that was published recently called 'Fanwnak' - the actual 'zine was ve...

Re: OINK! 30th anniversary
I did read oink, but I dunno, it always felt too 'forced' to me. It came very much on the coat tails of Viz albeit for a younger audience. Like it was always telling me how funny it was without just being 'funny'. The actual title was wrong too, the whole pig thing left me a bit cold. Whilst it did ...
