UPDATE (02/01/2012): Des Shaw, editor of Spaceship Away , kindly sent me a wonderful scan. Thank you very much, Des! One to go: I am still looking for Mickey Mouse Weekly No 752 for 9 October 1954. I do not need an actual copy, but a hi-res scan from the weekly feature “Something to Make” would be ...

Re: Need some help please
Hi Toff,
Are there any early Playhour weeklies (e.g. #138-140 from 1957) in your collection?

Unfortunately I do not know which page, but it was part of the b/w editorial page at the end of the issue. Please send me...

Re: Ron Embleton in Rover, 1957
Thank you for sharing the first episode and the publication details. I had no idea the story was about Steve Larrabee. He starred in some older strips, from another publisher, as well. The only information I had came from the Embleton-biography by Wright & Ashford (BMC-216, 2002). I had to do with p...

Ron Embleton in Rover, 1957
Can anyone please share a page of 'The Trek of The Homeless Ones' with me and the rest of the world? This strip by Ron Embleton appeared in The Rover, No. 1659-1670, from 1957. I have never seen this, and I wonder what it is about. Any details (i.e. dates of issues) will be appreciated. Thanks ! John

Re: Ron Embleton and Wulf the Briton
Just the other day I found a scan of an original and very early page from Wulf the Briton by Embleton. It's on compalcomics.com, in their summer catalogue 2009. The description: "106. Wulf The Briton original artwork by Ron Embleton for Express Weekly 155 (1957) Wulf proves himself to the warrior tr...

Re: Money Fun comic by Denis Gifford..
Hi Peter, Is there anything by Basil Reynolds in no. 2? He revisited his old artwork: -"Skit, Skat and the Captain", which he drew for Mickey Mouse Weekly from the very first issue in 1936 (unfortunately I do not know when this b/w-series was terminated); -"Wonders of the wild" looks just like his w...

Re: Ron Embleton's first fully painted strip?
Hi Starboy, According to Masters of Fun and Thrills by Norman Wright and David Ashford Embleton painted two series of sex-and-satire strips for Penthouse : - Oh, Wicked Wanda (1973-1981); - Sweet Chastity (1981-1988). You'll find some pages on the website of the Illustration Art Gallery (as long as ...
