Tablet For Drawing?

Quick tip which you probably already employ, Lew, but which took me ages to stumble across. When you're 'marrying' two sections together, reduce the opacity of the top layer and zoom in on the middle of the overlapping joined edges. You can then move that top layer until it's exactly in alignment wi...

Tablet For Drawing?

Lew's right, but check out the scanner anyway. I still have to join up two halves of a page in Photoshop because I draw at A2 size (per page), but the original is on one sheet of (flexible) paper and a couple of scans does the trick, rather than 4.

Tablet For Drawing?

Sheldon, try a quick search on Froogle using the keywords 'Mustek A3 Scanner USB' - you'll find a number of offers on the most economical A3 scanner you can buy. At around 80-90 quid it's a must, and literally hundreds of pounds cheaper than any other A3 scanner on the market. If there's a catch, I ...

A familiar new film...

Mal Judge certainly drew The Badd Lads, Gary, Lew, and was indeed the original Numskulls artist, as well as Billy Whizz for the Beano. Although I have a feeling Tom Lavery may have been drawing the Numskulls around the mid 70's, possibly later. The Banana Bunch was originally drawn by Leo Baxendale,...

Unacceptable in terms of what, David? I take it you mean political correctness rather than standards of artwork?

The Future Of Comics - Do They Have One?

Mark Hamill is a member of the Beano fan club since his Luke Skywalker days.

That's an impressive list, Lew, but despite their huge names, I suspect they're all already past their 'cool by' dates with the main comic-reading target audience.

Euan McGregor maybe?

Black Bob was drawn originally by the great Jack Prout.

I have often been inspired by Kake - usually Battenburg, but I also enjoy a good Black Forest gatto.

Re: The Future Of Comics - Do They Have One?

I subscribe to the theory that you can sell anything to anyone given enough publicity. Were some Jamie Oliver type "celebrity" employed to push paper comics as being "cool", and the product was affordable and widely available I think we might see kids buying them. Couldn't agree more, Lew. This has...

Flash Gordon - those spark-spewing spaceships. Ming the Merciless. Fantastic cliff-hangers on a Saturday morning...preceded by Old Mother Reilly, Woody Woodpecker and Mighty Mouse. This is getting weird. Ma Kellogg's second-hand shop was about a hundred yards from the Odeon, Lew - I can still smell ...
