Re: FOOTBALL SEASON 2010/11

Everyone happy with Defoe's hat-trick last night?

Hats off to N.I. for winning away in Slovenia, and to Belarus for beating France in Paris (there's always someone worse off than yourself)!

Result of the night goes to Cyprus for holding Portugal 4-4 in Lisbon, with an 89th minute equaliser.

Re: CLiNT: New newsstand comic from Mark Millar/Titan!

Clint actually featured on Newsnight Review last night, after a discussion on the movies Tamara Drewe and Jonah Hex. Interesting discussion which touched on the future for comics in Britain.

Anyone see it?

Thanks for that, Raven. Would he have written it as well, do you think?

Re: Identify the artists

I think that embargo only applies to Dan Dare - but of course that stops Al using images of Eagle covers, since Dan was the cover star. The rest of Eagle's archive would belong to IPC, whereas Dan is owned by the Dan Dare Corporation. However, that embargo seemingly doesn't apply to Wikipedia... :?...

Identify the artists

Hi Folks, do we still have the embargo on uploading stuff that might have appeared in Eagle (or was that just Dan Dare)? I wanted to upload a Percy Vere strip from the TV21 annual for 1973. I would assume it was a reprint from the Eagle, but am not quite sure as it's not signed (they were usually do...

Re: Dan Dare - The Film??

Who knows, a DD film might be a success: George Lucas only created STAR WARS after he was unable to secure the rights to FLASH GORDON, [an equally archaic concept as DD, even in the 70s] but apperently this went down well with audiences. There's obviously a lot of archaic FLASH GORDON- styled image...

Re: FOOTBALL SEASON 2010/11

I was thinking the same thing actually, they can beat Werder Bremen and FC Twente, but will struggle against Inter Milan. If that's how it happens, they'll probably be second place in the group. I'm not so worried about Milan as they've got off to a dodgy start under Rafa. Mind you, if we can't bea...

uploading problem

Hi folks, first I just accidently hit the "I've forgotten my password" button, so please ignore that - if it's not automated. I've just tried uploading two pages of art, but received the following message - Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached. What do I do now? Try again? Wait? Any su...

Re: Hello!

Wasn't there a famous movie musical about Oklahoma? Now what was it's title? (Hope Americans are now doing irony). Incidentally (and speaking of musicals) did anyone see Law and Order Special Victims Unit last night? The one with Lesley Caron. Superb episode - Caron won an Emmy award for it. Next F...

Hmmm. Semi-finals might be a bit premature. Let's wait and see the draw first. What's the chances they get a group with Martin Jol's Ajax?

Re: Captain America retouched to wearing Union Jack?

I seem to remember I've read that when Captain America first (?) was published i the U.K. his uniform was changed from "Old Glory" pattern to "Union Jack" pattern. Is there any truth in that, or have I just dreamt that one up? And if so what name did he go under? Unless they did it during the war a...

A bunch of Love And Rockets, bringing me up to date (I rarely buy new stuff anymore). Also got a copy of Gil Kane's Blackmark and a Friedman Brothers collection.

And a load of noir dvds.

Many thanks guys. Didn't realize the sixpence was only worth 2 1/2p!

Steelclaw: that conversion table is going to come in really handy.

(Unless, of course, the annual I'm indexing has been price clipped).

In which case I'll be back.
