Talking of Whizzer & Chips, the first merge issue with Scouse Mouse is on its way to me.

I’m a Marvel UK diehard fan but even I’d never heard of their 1982 comic Not the World Cup which includes an early Alan Moore story. Now purchased and on its way.

It’s a great title and the Hammer strips are now collected by Dez

The final ever Whizzer and Chips (sob!). The passing of a comic giant - and the last appearance of Shiner (double sob !) At least he managed to get through it unscathed.

Some Dracula Lives from 1975 including Werewolf by Night meeting Moon Knight.

I only heard yesterday morning how ill he was - and reading here now that he passed away later in the day. So incredibly sad and my deepest sympathies to his family.

Some great days out there but I missed them all sadly. At least I got to the 2000AD 40th Anniversary con which was truly Zarjaz.

Ron Smith on Red Dwarf! I never knew.

I love Ron’s work and he’s right up there with Brian Bolland and Carlos Ezquerra in my 2000AD Hall of Fame, yet never seems to get the same recognition.

Sometimes a merger really makes a title far, far better. Whizzer & Chips with the other Knockout being one that brought in some great long standing strips.

Young Romance 1 -13 : the whole set of this difficult to find Marvel UK digest series from 1981.

I always go for the website exclusive hardback covers but they are a bit of a mixed bunch compared to the mainstream ones.
