Victor - True Stories of Men at War
I believe it was the cover story - but not sure if this was always the case.

Victor - True Stories of Men at War
In 'Victor' there was a series called 'True Stories of Men at War'.
I am especially interested in finding out which issue the story of General Hector MacDonald was told in - if anybody knows?
I was more of a 'Battle' reader!
Many thanks!

What DC Showcase book do you have and recommend...
I love those early Teen Titans (got the complete original run) but more for the art of Nick Cardy, one of the best I reckon. His TT covers are superb compositions.
I'm also a fan of the early days of the Wolfman/Perez series - before it got so popular they decided to keep it going at any cost.

Your post made me chuckle, Jamie, as I have a very similar experience. Until a couple of years ago I always hand-made birthday cards, and it just became an expected thing, taken for granted. Also, the number of birthday cards seemed to be increasing each year. Eventually I stopped, and now tend to j...

Have a look here, Ian, and click on the pre-orders. It at least shows the next 3 months or so:

This list may be of interest to you (and I'm not suggesting the title of the page refers to you by any means): http://www.foldedspace.org/weblog/2006/05/graphic_novels_for_people_who.html I agree with what you say about bagged comics and the disappointing subject matter of what I think in comics is ...

If you read The Observer on a Sunday, then tomorrow's (June 4 2006) edition has a football illo by (me) in a 'comic-strip style' in their Observer Sport Monthly supplement.
Should be a bit of fun!

Beaver and Steve
I love Beaver & Steve - I'm an occassional visitor but always catch up when I visit (I'm not a very good webcomic reader). It's in my bookmarks but I've just noticed not linked on my own site... I will add a link.
Well done on the Cartoonists Choice award too - well deserved.

Thanks Magnet. Yup, Tintin is an influence, as well as many of the European album adventures.

If someone says something witty, I'll give a knowing chuckle*. If someone walks into a lampost I'll cry with laughter like an idiot!

Eagle Award
Thanks, I'm off to vote then! (No, Rainbow Orchid shouldn't be up for any awards, certainly not until it's actually out! But thanks!) Solar Wind definitely deserves kudos. Paul works really hard on it, and it is a genuinely entertaining read. My only problem is what to vote for in other categories a...

Helo Paul,
I've just heard that Solar Wind has been nominated for an Eagle Award. First of all - congratulations, definitely deserved! Secondly - do you know how I can vote for you? Or is not open to the masses?

A French edition would be great (and Dutch, Spanish, Italian, Japanese..!), but just getting the English version out will be enough to start with. It's getting there.
