Wow, he must've deteriorated quickly, what a shame. Condolences to his family. RIP.

Re: How do you store annuals

I've just been sorting through my annuals. And one Dandy Book did have a couple of loose pages and a few missing pages. Luckily it was a duplicate and the other copy is in good condition. Can't sell it at a car boot sale when they resume like the few other duplicates I have (who'd want a book with m...

Re: Beano expansion

Then she can't be named after Minnie either. She wasn't called Hermione until they started giving the characters realistic names (in Minnie's case, Hermione Makepeace) instead of having the kids be called what their stories are (i.e. Minnie was literally called Minnie the Minx) and the parents just ...

Looks like they stopped Gag Vault last week, so now it's just Perishers reprints and Andy Capp.

Re: What did you get for Christmas?

God, that Chortle With Chums book was hard to find. Never did see it on the shelves in either WHSmith or Waterstones, so ended up ordering it in for in store collection. Also got the Beano and Dandy annuals.

Can you post a scan of the cover "comic football 1" please?
I will try when i come across it again but i never post scans here.
I see it's not in the Comics UK cover gallery - nor anything from the Football pocket library comics. So you might want to scan that and submit it to the Gallery.

Re: Beano No.4000 - Who'll be getting it?

I buy it every week anyway. I'm surprised they didn't bundle a gift and jack up the price - they actually haven't done that at all in the school holidays this year, which makes a nice change.

Re: New look forum

Well I think it looks fine except for one minor detail - the Comics UK logo has jagged white outlines. That didn't matter on the main site with it's white background, but it's obvious on the forum. Al, do you have the original files used to create that logo? If it was a PNG instead of a GIF, you cou...

Re: Commando Announcement

Those other genres used to have their own books - Football and Starblazer (though I think a sports one would need a more versatile title now so it can run things like Tough of the Track). It's a shame they can't expand the pocket library line. It's down to just Commando now, but it used to also have...

I liked kill or be killed as well as TWD and most Bat stuff!
Thanks
