Re: John Richardson’s artwork in girls’ comics
I've found another John Richardson in girls' comics: Clueless - the blunderdog, a regular cartoon from Princess Tina. The issue is dated week ending 27 May 1972.

Re: Susy - French Comic
No, but we've had plenty of DCT and IPC titles turning up in other translations, including Dutch, Greek and Indonesian. So I guess French figures as well. I wonder what turned up in French?

Re: Worst problem parents in girls serials
The Weekes parents from Tammy’s “Sister in the Shadows” are pretty bad too: they compare Wendy to her brilliant sister Stella all the time and always put Stella first, so it’s no use Wendy even succeeding at anything. https://jintycomic.wordpress.com/2017/0 ... dows-1980/

Re: "A pony tale" in Suzy
Tammy had a run of pony tales in the 1980s too. A few did discuss breeds, such as the now-extinct Tarpan, but most were complete stories about a particular pony.

Re: John Richardson’s artwork in girls’ comics
It's not a Strange Story. It's a mini serial. It started 2 March 1974 and ended 16 March 1974.

Before anyone asks, 30th Century Comics does not have the issue with the final episode of this story.

Ending to Danger Doll
We have had another query at Girls Comics of Yesterday, to know the ending of Danger Doll, which ran in Bunty 1201 (January 17 1981) – 1216 (May 2 1981). What was the end of this story? I never did find out because the edition which contained the final installation was not delivered. I’ve wondered a...

Re: Worst problem parents in girls serials
The worst case of overprotective parents in girls’ comics has to be the Beeton parents from Tammy's "Namby Pamby" - especially the mother. She would give the ridiculously over-protective mummy in Buster's "Mummy's Boy" a run for her money. Poor Pamela has been so overprotected from birth and mummy’s...

Re: Worst problem parents in girls serials
"No Fun for Fiona" from Suzy. http://girlscomicsofyesterday.com/2018/10/no-fun-for-fiona/ Would you believe Mum only allows Fiona on a school trip on condition she stays with the teacher every single minute? As if that weren't bad enough, Mum makes this demand to the teacher in front of the whole cl...

Re: Worst problem parents in girls serials
There was a story in an annual somewhere called “Jumping Jo”, where Dad is pushing Jo into being an air stewardess while she wants to go into athletics. She strikes out on her own and wins lots of medals. But in the end she bows to her father’s wishes. I was very disappointed there. The story was i...

Re: Worst problem parents in girls serials
Antagonists in girls’ serials can have problem parents too. For example, they tend to get the parents who are too demanding and drive them too hard. This in turn drives them to make trouble for the protagonist. Examples of this are “Rosie at the Royalty” (Tammy) and “The Silver Racer-back” (Misty). ...

Re: Worst problem parents in girls serials
“Just the Two of Us” from Nikki has two sets of problem parents, and they are problem parents for the same reason: they push their kids into what they want and don’t listen to what the kids want. It gets to the point where one runs away and the other goes in search of him. http://girlscomicsofyester...
