Re: Our Colin (aka colcool007)
Colin's wife has now decided that she won't be keeping Colin's collection and has sent the whole lot, some 30,000 ish items, to me to sell on her behalf. I have been trying to sort through the collection over the last couple of weeks to get some kind or organisation going. I've decided the best way ...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Being of a certain age I was a big fan and collector of the Alan Class range of comics mostly for the obscure superhero and sci fi strips in them as the comics which these were reprinted from I had never seen until the dawn of eBay and such like. Yesterday I had a delivery from Amazon 500 page book...

Re: What comics DIDN'T you buy today?
Didn't need to buy it because I already have a copy thank goodness, but I did notice that, after a fierce bidding war, someone on the Compal Auctions site forked out , including the buyer's premium, a cool £2600 for a first edition of the Tiger comic! Hawkeye and I were talking about that. What a c...

Re: Looking back ----childhood comics
Once Upon a Time is the first comic I read regularly. I then progressed to Valiant. In 1972 we moved to Saudi and for the next 3 years I could only get US comics so I read Archie, Casper and similar until I found Marvel and fell in love. Returning to the UK in ‘74, I gorged myself on Marvel UK and d...

Re: Who was 'RV'?
I’ve asked around and the best answer I’ve found was from the one and only Steve Holland who suggests “ Might be Roberts & Vinter, who were book distributors in the 1960s. They became publishers — of Hank Janson, New Worlds SF magazine and Compact Books — and probably had a finger in many other pies...

Re: Battle picture weekly - Terror Behind the Bamboo curtain
I miss these updates Geoff. It was because of this thread that I started collecting Battle comics. There’s a great Battle fans Facebook group with about 1600 members and I’ve told a few of the regulars there of yours brilliant synopsis of their favourite comic.
