Another one to consider is Preacher. Some fantastic stories in there. Forget Da Vinci code, read the Holy blood storyline. Plus art from some of the best Brits as well. Steve Dillon just keeps getting better.

Sub Forums for Comic Characters?
When we get character migration from one comic to the other, it will always be difficult to keep a chat in one comic forum. But I would guess that it will always be best to start the chat in the first comic that you found the character. Example for me would be The Mighty Wilson. I first read it in W...

Earl, that makes perfect sense to me. As I only collect UK adventure papers, I find that the cent sign is guaranteed to ensure that comic X is a comic that I will not buy! It still amazes me that some of our UK comics can turned up in the most unusual places. Keep the scans coming. I ma...

Re: What Annuals are actually still produced?

The problem is that these themes (ie nothing to do with superheroes) were tried before and the audience was found to have been too limited (Crisis, Deadline and Revolver are the three examples that spring to mind) to be fiscally viable. I do agree that comics un-necessarliy limit themselves to super...

What a surprise
Finished reading them all now! I was astonished to find so few original stories in there as many of them seem to be recycled characters/storylines. Originals seemed to be Hammer, Bushwhacker, Tad Turner, Young Starhawk, Jasper Sly, Tom Smith's Schooldays (with a style reminiscent of Rian Hughe...

Put in a bit of a joke bid for 90 Buddy comics and was gobsmacked to win them! Now that I have got them, I am more than happy to own them. A lot of my fave characters are in the comic. General Jumbo and Billy The Cat to name but two. But the real prize has been the art. I have identifed no l...

TonyLondon is lost methinks!
These type of posts bug me. (Grumpy old man alert!) If I want to know about London, I can hit google for a search instead of having a bb get what amounts to e-graffiti all over it.
Must be getting old as I am less willing to put up with junk mail and rubbish like this nowadays!

Fantastic story! Didn't see it first time around, but completely enthralled by it as a thirty-something! The Action book by Martin Baker is well worth getting hold of to find out how that story actually was going to end up. The published version was very much a cop-out! (What a pun!) The orig...

black comic characters
I don't know. We had more than a few positive black comic characters over the years. Examples that spring to mind are: Harlem Heroes (2000AD) Ebony (Crunch) and a female as well! Blackjack (Action) Sgt Rayker (Warlord) Judge Giant and his son (2000AD) There are loads more but I just can't think of t...

UK comic book sales figures?
I have to agree with Lew, but his mutlipier is out! Average cost of pocket money crisps is about 35 pence (7/- to older peeps! :P ) Average cost of comic is ?1.80 or even more. So while it is good that kids have a big selection of comics (even though most are TV tie-ins) to buy, the difference...
