No way. The style for Max is HORRIBLE. It's basically just copy and paste with lots of errors.
I've often thought of writing to tell them to get a normal artist to draw it.

Re: Gnipper
Gnancy did save the day, and next week's issue should be £1.25. Speaking of prices, the Dandy Xtreme (with an over growing Xtreme logo) is also up to £2.60 this issue.

Where did it peak, and was it before Christmas? I haven't found it (the chart) anywhere.

I have the two mugs. The Desperate Dan one is more than 2 times the size of a normal mug!

Re: Which Annuals Did You Buy?
The closest place to me which had the BSK Space Cadets book was Borders, about 8-10 miles away. It was on the very top shelf, and may I add that the one storey shop was probably taller than a two storey one!

Thanks
I always remember that one as the second second hand one I bought! And the first good condition one (I got a really bad 1985 one, but a man down our road gave me one for free )

Biggest selling Beano annual?
Random question, but I was wondering if anyone knew which Beano Book has sold the most? I've read on here that the 2008 one was the best since the 1980s, but does anyone know the all-time one?

Re: The Christmas Beano
Brilliant new stories, and the reprints (apart from Les Pretend) are all carefully and wonderfully chosen, especially Too Riski and Dennis the Menace. Favourite part, as usual was Super School.

Re: Whizzer and Chips The Drips
Just a note...
That Snip 'n' Snap strip was reprinted in the Dandy last year (as R.H.C.Ds). That's the third time I've seen the strip - it was in a Geddes & Grossett reprint book as well.

Re: The Dandy - only ?1.20 - now with 'FREE' reprints!
It's not a Christmas issue, that's the one after... If it's a permanent price hike then that's no Dandy 2009 for me. Just Beano and MAX. The Dandy tends to put the price up when there's lots of "free" gifts. There have been two issues where the price has been pushed up 51p because there were 7 "free...

Re: Issue numbers - Beano is only five behind Dandy
This issue of the Dandy has the wrong number on it (not the first time - see the Beano covers on the main site). The Beano is still ONE behind in real terms!

How could the Dandy save itself?
My first thought on this was: "Try to be more like BeanoMAX". BeanoMAX has more than double the sales of the Dandy, so readers obviously like it. - It has more comic strips than the Dandy, always 50%+, most of which are more than three pages long. The reprints are chosen carefully, usually recoloure...
