Thanks Chalky for posting the link as I have realized my massive error...........Chalky wrote: ↑25 Nov 2024, 09:04Hi jim244, well what I can say is that I may have one of the biggest Buster collections in Ireland which is where I live! However there are certainly collectors out there who have the complete run.jim244 wrote: ↑23 Nov 2024, 01:30You will get there Chalky. You already have probably one of the largest collections of Buster in the UK.
Some people will have every issue already but you can count them on a hand.
Great stuff.
BTW:I have a Hotspur that has a pull out Buster promotion for the first issue.May be the first 3 issues? Not sure, not in front of me right now.
Do you have that?
I have a simple excel sheet to track all the issues I have with missing issues listed, which makes it very easy for me to keep track of what I need. I've also adjusted my list for the years where strikes paused publication of the comic for a few weeks here and there.
I didn't care for the comic after 1986, too many mergers which comics that didn't appeal to me, a change of artistic styles coupled with me growing out of comics at that time. I don't have the Buster promo you refer to, I suspect it may be similar to the one Phil Comics sold a few weeks ago on Ebay http://www.phil-comics.com/Preview.php?87996@UA==
This wasn't the promo I was thinking of.....
I've got my Beezers confused with my Busters.....
I was going to advise you to buy The Hotspur from Ebay as issue 1001 from the first volume (Jan 1956) has a promo 4 page for the launch of Beezer issue 1 and free gift for issue 2....
I THOUGHT IT WAS BUSTER!!!!!
However..Now it is in front of me I realize my silly mistake.
I've also realized that it's unattached by glue to the rest of the comic so may be a "flyer" as it were and perhaps I was lucky to get it ???
Anyone else with Hotspur issue 1001 please let me know !!!
