I think I read that issue 3356 recently (well a couple years ago) and if I remember right the cover has very little to do with the main Dennis the Menace story, it has like a panel or two of him going to the laser maze or laser tag or something then the story veers off in a completely different direction.

The issue came out, when I thought I'd grown out of comics (I was wrong) so I never got it at the time, but I got a copy as an adult to complete the gap in my collection.

I really liked Kev F's work. His long stories were some of the best parts of the 00s Beano. I always liked his references to the older comics.

Yeah, know what you mean TCT. Kevin F. is a comic superb artist & personality. True to the spirit of the Beano and generous to his fans. I suppose he given a story and he had to run with it. The page itself isolated you would never know it was connected to the Bash Street Kids without it being context without both pages side by side. I suppose having the comic for reference helps.

Funnily enough. When I recently told him that I sourced the comic, he kindly said , congrats , and I was surprised to hear him say how he didn't get a copy of the comic himself from the publishers and somehow had to source issues himself to see his art in print. If I can remember he said, one to junk, another for a keepsake to put in a folder.

It's not on Grand Comics Database. Which company published it? Is it more than 50% comic strips?
The Big Battle Annual I mean.

Just bought myself another Scream Holiday Special, although this time it's not a UK release but German , has the cover of the 1989 Spinechillers issue , and instead of the partly yellow cover page instead is turquoise blue. Pic asap. :)

Published in Great Britain by WORLD DISTRIBUTERS (Manchester) LIMITED

Printed and bound in England by Jarrold and Sons Ltd ,Norwich

94 pages of which 33 are comic strip,10 pages of illustrated interesting facts such as British tanks or distinguished service medals, another example shown.

the rest is made up of illustrated story pages.
I think the artwork or printing could have been better but the book is probably a 6 out of ten.

Just sourced three more Scream Holiday Specials. These are different though. They are the German version of the UK magazine. They only made four issues in 1989 compared to the five UK specials. And three out of the four have different covers to the UK, with no.3 that having the Spinechillers cover art. Looks cool. Anyway, I managed to track down mags no 2 , 3 & 4 but yet to find no.1, but I will.

Had delivery of no.3 today in FN condition. 8)

Thanks Richard S. Yeah, it's great to finally source them all. Even better now knowing I've managed to track down the 1989 Scream comic released in Germany. Never knew they did be a German language version? Anyway, awaiting their delivery. Will post some pics asap. Some nice cover art.

Massive Congrats for completing the Scream German set.
Very nice covers.
Also love the Beano covers.
The Beano was so fantastic and yet (in my opinion) went totally odd at some stage, not certain of which year, possibly sometime this century, maybe the 1990s???
OMG I sound so old !!!!!
Anyhow, much love for the original Beano always and wonderful issues you have there.
