Found some fun free gifts from IPC magazines in Stafford today!

A football league ladder with all the card team names from Shoot 1969
'My Favourite Soccer Stars' player card albums from Tiger, Smash & Buster 1970
Dial-a-Striker from issue 1 of Striker

Also two 'Your Team Records for the Past Twenty Years!' from Scorcher, and another from Valiant.

Happy find and a good cheer-up after a long, stressful week in the office.

I managed to get along to Swapmeet 6 and did fairly well.

I swapped out 8 key issues of 2000AD, 50 plus Wizards, a pile of Red Daggers, 100 Dandys and a 1956 Dandy annual for 480 Commandos, 98 Battle Weekly, a 1953 Beano annual and even came home with more money in my pocket than I left with.

I also came home with more comics than I left with too! All in all, a pretty successful day for myself. Now, it's a case of roll on Swapmeet 7 in Banbury, Virusalype allowing!

Everything is apocalyptic at the moment so I’ve been rounding up a few final issues for my collection, namely Rupert 100 (1985 - Marvel), Donald Duck 18 (1975) & The Savage Sword of Conan 18 (1975). All have exciting news inside...!

The Donald Duck title was in the same format as Vulcan, i.e. small and lots of colour (in this case throughout). Personally I liked it but that brought a hefty 10p price tag and too expensive for a weekly splash out.

Made two purchases from eBay.com.au

I bought today two issues of the best of Whoopee! as well as a copy of the 1959 Dandy book.

I should have these purchases by sometime after Easter. (One lot has to come from the other side of the country, while the other is coming from far north Queensland)

I had the Masters of British Comic Art delivered and I think I have just seen a UK exclusive of being one of the first to watch the documentary Alcatena about the superlative artist Quique Alcatena who worked on Crunch, Victor and Starblazer to name but a few of the comics that featured his art.
