I have been quiet as of late, but I have bought the following over the last month or so.

From eBay, I picked up the 1959 Dandy Book, the 25th anniversary issue of the Beano and a few issues of the Best of Buster, the Best of Whoopee and the Best of Whizzer and Chips.

Items coming this week should include the Masters of British Comic Art, the 8/4/1978 reproduction Whizzer and Chips and a regular issue from 1976 (although it won't arrive until May) the final issue of my four issue subscription of Phoenix from Newsstand and the Cor!! Buster Easter special.

Today's purchase, while not in the UK comics mold, it is about the history of the Australian comic industry.

Bought today from the Angus and Robertson eBay shop, I bought, ""from 'Sunbeams' to sunset: the rise and fall of the Australian Comic Book (1924-1965)" by Graeme Clife.

I should get that next week. Should be a great read.

Hi Bruce,
Will you let us know, please, Bruce, if the book contain a chapter on all your country's football teams? :)
Best regards,

I have received my copy this afternoon, but I really cannot look at it at the moment (having just recently had a cataract operation, yesterday).

As soon as I get the chance I will let you know.

I got my copies of The77 the other day and I'm going to be honest, I am not sure that I like it.

The print quality of the mag is very good, I liked Lew Stringer's Sgt Shouty of the Moon Force and there were a few other strips that looked interesting but I didn't like a lot of the artwork.

However it is early days for the comic plus there is not a lot of anthologies around these days so I will show my support by getting the second issue and go from there.

Thank SID, funny you say that as I looked at some images online and read more about the strips and it didn’t jump out at me at all. Maybe I’m just too old school!
