Comic book from folk at Aardman Animations

Post by Stingray » 01 Dec 2010, 17:25

Hey there.... Just a quick bit of promotion, as some of the folk at Aardman Animations will soon be releasing a comic book anthology with stories based around the theme of Great Britain and the British Empire. It's a bunch of different styles (although I've just noticed that there are no stories produced using plasticine. How odd)... Anyhoo, the stories, once all gathered together all look rather spiffing. Good news as the book is called Tales of the Spiffing. It's the first book we've done and should hopefully be going to the printers end of the week, with a limited run of 1000 copies (paying for it ourselves so a 1000 seemed like a nice number).
Not quite sure where we're gonna sell it yet although Forbidden Planet will be taking some as will Stuart Ng in le US of A. I think we'll end up selling them at the Bristol Expo if anyone would like one.. YAY to May!

Here's a page of my story about a British kid launching himself to the moon.

The other pages have a bit more colour :)

Saw it's gonna be at the London SP expo in March, i'll give it a look. Some of the story descriptions on the website sounded decent

Ooh ta for that ... Hopefully you'll like it.
I'm totally chuffed to have something in print I can actually thumb through (posters for that village fete in 1984 doesn't really count).
Sadly there was no box to tick for 'Authentic 70's annual' smell at the printers. Ah well... Still rather exciting though.
