Which comic would you choose if there could only be one?

I had a dream last night where 2000AD announced its last issue (similar to the way CLiNT did) and I was like losing a friend as I been getting the comic for the majority of my life. Luckily it was a dream and I woke up a happy man.

However, it did make me ponder the question: "Which existing comic would you choose if there could only be one?"

My answer: Toxic!

LOL! Only joking, of course it would be 2000AD. :D

Bimbo? As in the DCT comic published in the sixties and early seventies, ISPY?

Nope. It has to be a comic that is currently in print though it doesn't have to be British.

Yotsuba&!

It's the only comic I know that has beautiful art and consistantly leaves me feeling happy.

2000AD. I've been buying it since 1977 and it's never let me down.

Tut, tut, Steve.

You can only have one choice.

Difficult choice now - but I'll go for the Broons/Oor Wullie. Shame its no longer printed as a cut out and fold Fun Section.

I only buy Panini/Titan reprints regularly (and Strip if thats possible) and Commando irregularly. Still, I'd probably go for 2000AD. Unfortunately, it's moved a long way from me now but I'm still pleased it exists. Maybe one day it will go back to being exciting as an installment, rather than having to read a number of issues to get something from it.

A lot of comics are like that now. I read Ultimate Spider-Man once a year because that way I reckon I can get to read a whole story.

I had a look at early Yotsuba&! pages and I understand why it would have that effect, Marionette. I'll load up some more, as I enjoyed what I read.
However, if I have to choose one title, it would be The Phantom - the Frew publication, as it's the only way I can understand the Scandinavian created stories, and they have now reprinted all the original strips in their complete form. And I'm a Phan.

The Beano.

Even though I no longer buy it every issue (unlike 2000 AD, Judge Dredd Megazine, Viz and far too many US titles) it was the first comic I fell in love with, and it's the last remaining "traditional" children's weekly.

I feel that way about Marvel and DC Comics. So I tend to buy the graphic novels rather than try to collect individual issues. Of course I do have an exception - The Incredible Hulks. But that is Panini and not the original US comics.

Viz, easily.

I would've said the Beano, but it's really not for me anymore (and I know I'm not the intended market, so that's fine). It'd be a shame to see it go, sure, but we're being selfish here by only picking one, and Viz is the one for me!
