A recent Beano had the phrase "kick-ass", which surprised me somewhat.

Think it was a Cuddles & Dimples or maybe a Les Pretend (or maybe neither!), but several years ago there was a wonderful bit of onomatopoeia - "Kersplooshittycrack" as someone fell through some ice, ho ho ho!

How about this bit of cultural sensitivity from the Beano, around 1994-ish?

Even before I was ten I knew this kind of thing was a bit "off".

Pussy is slang for cat - I don't see the problem.

Slang it may be, but it's still funny, especially with the agressive expression on Mickey's face.

I love Cheeky's introductory panel in the first issue of Krazy (I think), where he is apparently urinating against a fence. It's actually a hosepipe of course, but this struck me as slightly borderline for the play-it-safe IPC comics of the 70s. Excellent stuff.
