Komic Brew - a new publishing company based in Edinburgh

Post by Komic Brew »

Hello everybody!
This is Goce, co-founder of Komic Brew, a new publishing company based in Edinburgh.
I myself am Macedonian, and my partner Adam is Scottish, you can tell it by his accent :)
not that I don't have an accent myself :)
anyway, here's a link to our website http://www.komicbrew.com
and this is our Kickstarter project.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ko ... phic-novel
we kind of jumped into it too soon, but there's still time to make it happen.
any kind of help, comment, FB like (https://www.facebook.com/komicbrew), or introduction to a journalist or a blogger is more than welcome.
some samples of our upcoming graphic novel.

And hello to you again here. What's all this about accents? There's a few of us on here with lovely, distinctive Scottish accents.
There has been a lot of interest lately in British newspapers re. comics and G.N.s but I assume you have sent off press releases to the media. Perhaps the Evening News in Edinburgh is the obvious choice but the Guardian, Herald and some other nationals have printed articles recently. Also, The Evening times in Glasgow used to do a lot on local comics - creators and shops.
This week local t.v. stations were launched and there is one in Glasgow. Might be worth while looking them up as I am sure they are desperate to fill their airtime.
With some of the more recent cons and events being given space and air time, trying to hitch onto their coat tales is always a good idea.

That first panel looks brilliant! The faces have just the right level of "cartoonishness" to be expressive, without it looking like it's trying to be Franco-Belgian (not that they don't do the odd granite-faced hard man, mind you!).

thx for the support and the tips, guys :)
we're doing this as fast and as hard as we can.
What's all this about accents?
it's an internal joke, at the beginning we couldn't understand each other with Adam quite well, we both had very strong accents :D
but with time we got used to that :)

Hello everyone!
After a long hiatus of almost two years, Komic Brew is back in action.

"Dan Fadil: First Light" is the first book in an adventure trilogy set in Medieval times, by Croatian artist Tomislav Kosta.
Every page is an oil painting, and it took 3.5 years to finish it.

This hand-painted graphic novel needs your support to get printed. The project is live on KS, and we're 60% funded already.

If you like oil paintings, history, medieval themes and sea-related imagery, please click on this link and help us print this beautiful book.
