Watching a rare Beano Comic #39 free gift from 1939 on ebay. Holy bash St kids, it's got 8 days left and it's currently £300.

What a rare find. I think this could go for a lot more yet.

Yeah, I agree. It'll probably go to into the late hundreds, especially if two bidders get into a bidding frenzy. The likelihood is, whoever wins wants to marry the free gift up with the issue that they own. I'd do the same if my pockets were deep enough. It's in good nick too. Amazing to think it still exists?

I myself never collected comics for specific dates, but do source ones that feature art that I own. Saying that though, I did a obtain a comic for my brother a few years back. My brother was/is a very good comic artist, and in his teens won a competition in the Battle comic. He had his Johnny Red art featured on the front page. The editor sent him a congratulations letter that also included £5 prize money. Sad thing was though. Some git from the Royal Mail opened his letter in the sorting office and stole his money. Bitter sweet.SID wrote: ↑26 Oct 2020, 13:10Ditto. In fact I collect comics that has my DOB.stevezodiac wrote: ↑23 Oct 2020, 14:34I've just noticed that Beezer was for my actual date of birth. This is on gumtree if anyone has twelve grand to spare. I've been looking for the varied contents of Double Double Comics to add to the Grand Comics Database entries.

It does include the issue with the first appearance of Batgirl.

Re: Ebay - you want how much for it???
Apparently each Double Double had different comics in them, but all had the same cover. I have half a dozen of them, all the first issues, but no doubles to comparestevezodiac wrote: ↑09 Dec 2020, 15:43This is on gumtree if anyone has twelve grand to spare. Re: Ebay - you want how much for it???
If you could provide the contents for each of them here I can compare them with the ones I have already indexed on GCD. I've already noted three different contents for Action Double Double no.1. I only need the title and number not the stories.
Thanks in anticipation.

It's lovely to see that there are still people that have absolutely no understanding of the worth of an annual!

Yeah, I had to take a second look too. And still the P&P is £3.20? I'd at least expect recorded post with that price.Adam Eterno wrote: ↑08 Feb 2021, 11:55It's lovely to see that there are still people that have absolutely no understanding of the worth of an annual!

I have three original 1947 newspapers reporting the wedding of The Queen and Prince Phillip but I won't be asking this much. And he's charging small parcel rate for items over 750g.

At the moment watching on eBay issues #1 & #2 of the classic 2000AD comics with free gifts . You can say they're pretty pricey.

Logged onto eBay this morning to find the format has changed and it's now a complete mess. Anybody else having trouble wondering what the hell is going on?

It's been like this for at least a few days. Absolutely agree that it is a complete mess.stevezodiac wrote: ↑22 Apr 2021, 12:48Logged onto eBay this morning to find the format has changed and it's now a complete mess. Anybody else having trouble wondering what the hell is going on?
