You're basically paying for the gift. I wonder how high this could go??

I've just noticed the #2 gift for sale as well: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252630660806? ... EBIDX%3AIT

Only just noticed these. The price shows how rare Jag comics are!

I think that's the highest I've seen the full set of Captain Britain go for: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/391673167301? ... EBIDX%3AIT

I don't think that is a bad price for the Captain Britain collection when you consider the inclusion of free gifts and the Cap's sister's 1st appearance. I paid £60 for the first two issues with free gifts a couple of years ago; another £60 for the superjet free gift in issue 24, and issue 8 with the first appearance of the Captain's sister aka Psylocke usually goes for £50 upwards. I would have paid this had I wanted the entire collection with free gifts in one go.

£60 for the superjet?? I think I'll have to fish out one of my duplicates of that and get it on ebay! I agree it's not a bad price, especially as I just checked and a set went in September for £275. I hope both buyer and seller are happy with that price anyway. It's amazing how this set has shot up in value over the last 5 or so years. I was buying #1 and #2 with gifts for under a tenner not that long ago. I'm pretty sure you could get the set for less than £50!

I think I got an entire set - weeklies, monthlies, MSH, MWoM, Daredevils - for about £30 five years ago.

That's what happens when you spell it 'Captian Britian' and list it under Magazines

"Psylocke". God, I hate what Claremont did to Betsy Braddock in the eighties. And what everyone has done to her since.

An amazing price achieved by Phil Shrimpton considering I bought the comic and gift less than 3 months ago for £20!

Not bad, although as I've said before, I sold Prog 2 with the gift a few years ago for £600 on its own.

Ever get the feeling that some collectors only ever bid on Phil's listings? Good luck to him and all that but there does sometimes seem to be a big difference in winning bids between Phil's stock and other sellers.

I agree. I think both he and Malcolm at Compal have bidders that probably don't have the time to trawl through listings on Ebay every week seeking bargains so just look at their auctions and bid to win. My kind of buyer!

I'd sell my copy for that! Interestingly Phil only achieved £343 last night for his and £245 for #1
