They've changed, and improved, the cover design to the one they revealed the other week. The new one has a much better composition. Interesting that the hardback version is only limited to 200 copies. A bargain at £22.99.

P.S: I've just been informed that Rebellion have set up a Facebook page for their Treasury of British Comics line:

Now that has got me interested. Something from Rebellion that I can't wait to get my hands on. The Leopard was reprinted in France, in pocket library size comics and I have a few issues, plus a scanned story. But collected volumes really tickle my fancy.

Given that I reprinted the Beast of Selbridge in Starscape, this is one for me. I've already ordered the hardback.

This year's Free Comic Book Day giveaway edition of 2000 AD features a rather nice little one page spoof strip of Tharg's Nerve Centre being invaded by a horde of characters "rescued from the Maxwell vortex", including Hookjaw, Gums, Frankie Stein, Odd Ball, Sweeny Toddler, Roy Race, Moonchild, One Eyed Jack, Misty, Faceache, Major Eazy, the Leopardman, Ghastly McNasty and Blake Edmonds from Death Wish.

I don't know if it's a rose-tinted glasses thing, but there's something remarkably charming about these old school characters that you don't really get nowadays. If I may harumph just for a second, most new UK-created characters strike me to be wholly manga-derived slice-of-life stuff, which is not my thing at all.

I think it's more likely to be because that issue was printed in America and it was cheaper to use the standard U.S. format.

I've just seen the Leopard from Lime Street book by the way. I think everyone will be very pleased with it when it comes out in July.

...No doubt one of the perks of being a top comic artist and running one of the best comic blogs around! :)

Thanks, Phil. I can't show any of it on my blog until next month but it's a nice package (going by the PDF anyway).
