Ron Clark - Buster Writer RIP

Post by bustercomic »

Hi All,

It's come to my attention that last weekend we lost the man who was involved in many of the early Buster strips, Ron Clark.

His work not only included Buster, but many other Fleetway strips of the 1950s and 1960s.

Our thoughts go out to his family, particularly his son Chris who has very kindly said he'll let me have a transcript of a recorded interview of his father for the Buster website.

Writers often get a little ignored in the grand scheme of things when looking back, so I'm looking forward to the opportunity to acknowledge the man whose stories sold Buster and kicked off a mighty comic.

Today's issue of The Guardian carries a big obituary of Ron 'Nobby' Clark, written by Steve Holland. It incorporates what seems to be the front cover of the 1962 Buster Annual.
