Recently I posted a topic about my interest of fairgrounds in comics, in which several members contributed, and I thank them very much.

I am not really sure where I am going with this topic, and it will probably lead to nothing but at least its taking me on a comic journey. Anyway, I recently came across information (credit to Illustration art gallery) that Mr Wakefield fought part time as a boxer, fighting ameteur heavyweight bouts and staging exhibitions at fun fairs, until he was established at his chosen career.

Can, anyone help with anymore information on Mr Wakefield? For instance, does anyone have any examples of his work that they feel may have been influenced by his time boxing at fun fairs? I have checked examples on Peters blog, plus others on the net but cannot find any of fairgrounds.

Bit of a long shot I know, but thought it was worth asking, thanks.
