Latest subject for my Biographical Dictionary project at the UK Comics Wiki: Jack Pamby. Clark's dictionary gives "1902?-1966?" as his dates, but the BMDs don't match that. He says Jack retired early some time in the 1960s and died of cancer shortly after, before he was 65. There are only two Pambys in the BMDs that match that:
Horace Pamby, born North Witchford, Cambridgeshire, Q3 1904; married Ida M Stearn, Q2 1925, Spalding, Lincolnshire; died March, Cambridgeshire, Q2 1961
Frank Albert Pamby, born North Witchford, Cambridgeshire, Q4 1898; married Bertha V Thulborn, Ely, Cambridgeshire, Q2 1926; died Q2 1964, March, Cambridgeshire
Do either of these match what anybody knows about Jack?

Re: Jack Pamby biographical details
Update: the Buster Comic site says Pamby's last "Charlie Pease" strip was in June 1974, so while he may have retired from his staff position in the 60s, he kept working, presumably freelance, into the 70s. So the two Pambys in my previous post can't be him. Instead, the best bet seems to be John Albert Pamby, born 31 May 1908 in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, married Margaret Brace in Hertford in Q1 1942, died Q3 1977 in London City.
