Brian Walker has passed away

Post by Al »

Some of you may be aware of Brian's passing, but I only found out about it via an email from his daughter Jo a few days ago. Brian sadly passed away back in May of this year, aged 94.

As this UK Comics Fandom web page states, he drew I Spy in Sparky, Fun Fear and Ghost Train for Whoopee!, Our Gran, Box-a-Tricks and Misery Buckets for Buster, and Scream Inn for Shiver and Shake, amongst many other works. He even created Goldfish Boy for Viz.

He wrote a couple of tomes in 2004 and 2006 about US Newspaper strips entitled The Comics: Before 1945 and The Comics: Since 1945.

He even played Tuba with Acker Bilk, and with the Wurzels :D

Here are some obituaries for him:
Guardian
Western Daily Press
Moulton Trust

Thanks for all your work Brian. Another sad loss for comic world :notworthy:

Al

One of the greats. I loved Scream Inn.
