Fantastic Journey on Rewind TV,started this week.Excellent seventies show.
Loved that show. Rewatched them all on YouTube. The scheduling unfortunately doesn't suit me on Rewind.
I also adored the show and bought a bootleg DVD of it many years ago and then the DVD official set when it came out.
Dorothy Fontana ( from Star Trek fame) was story editor of the series and here are her words:

"We had a map of the island, which we called Evoland. It was divided into districts that the characters would journey through before finally getting off the island," the scribe reveals. "So each segment would represent a different culture to encounter, but there was always a definite goal: they were headed in the right direction, and that was always on our mind. I think it was a show with great potential, but we were writing episodes under very high-pressure conditions. We were in just such a rush to get the scripts done."

Heard yesterday that The Monkees is coming to Rewind. Been wanting to watch that for years. Dvd sets were always very expensive. Even in HMV they were twice the costs of other 60s shows.
Brilliant news. As you say the DVD sets were very expensive and frankly they are really expensive now.
Used to video tape it in the eighties from Channel 4.
Be wonderful to see this again.

Yes I still have vhs tapes of the shows and I have a Toshiba freeview box that allows me to transfer vhs to dvd but now I have two freeview boxes with usb recording facility. Have the entire first season of Bewitched on one USB stick and now recording I Dream of Jeannie onto it. Takes up a lot less space than vhs tapes or dvd box sets.

Nice set up.
My wife threw out my thousands of VHS tapes so I never got round to transferring to disc as had hoped to years ago.
Had some pretty rare stuff.
I have I Dream of Jeanie on dvd boxset.

Sorry I'm late in replying to your question Steve (I've been busily distracted with things), but there are quite a few football teams I look out for.

The first match I attended was Brentford V Wolves at Griffin Park in 1992 (with my older sister and brother in law who's a Brentford fan), but it was when I lived in the North East shortly after in first Sunderland them Newcastle when I truly discovered atmosphere and real football passion. In 1996 I made my biggest mistake of moving down to Oxford - I did go to see United for a few seasons largely as there was nothing else to do there, but there was no passion for football at all there - kids wearing man Utd shirts at the ground and narrow minded cliquey fans. I often would prefer to do day trips of stays to the West Midlands where there was atmosphere, better beer and friendlier people. I'd occasionally try London clubs on day trips but wasn't as good. Then in 2000 I moved to the North West, first living in Stockport, then Hyde, Darwen, Bolton and Leigh. I was a season ticket holder for a time with Man City when they moved to their current ground but it got too expensive and the new ground still lacks the buzz Maine Road had. I have been to see a few other North west teams too, and went to Bolton a few times as I lived near the ground.
I have done a few away trips as a supporter of both Oxford then Man City.

There have been a few other clubs I rooted for after reading about their histories before I started going to matches. So I am a bit of a football chameleon.

So the clubs I look for in the results include all the North East and West Midlands teams, Oxford, Man City, Bolton, Burnley, Blackpool, Oldham, Stockport, Leeds, Huddersfield and Notts County; I've walked outside Burnley's and Notts Cos grounds but not been to matches but have a soft spot for these two. Not too bothered about Brentford as me and my snooty brother in law don't get on (thinks he knows all about psychological problems by having degrees but no lived experience when I with Autism have life experience. Can't pick your family...)

Ironically the last 2 away matches I did with Oxford in 2000 were at Wigan Athletic - whose borough I live in (have been outside the ground at Robin Park at events but not been to matches there since) and Millwall on the final game of the season. Quite an experience.

I remember watching The Fantastic Journey when it first came out on the BBC in 1977. Loved it then and enjoying it more so now (no parents to disrupt my viewing!). Do remember some of the later episodes not as good as Liana left suddenly; Katie Saylor suddenly bailed from the series for reasons never explained. Jared Martin (Varian) later went on to play Dusty Farlow in Dallas- Sue Ellen's love interest and Clayton's son.

I can also remember seeing Ike Eiseman, who played Scott in a TV movie comedy short about a bungling boy called Daffy Moon. This was shown first on Noel Edmonds Presents in 1977 where Noel (never off our TVs then) introduced assorted films and the same film was repeated as a replacement for an edition of Crackerjack which got cancelled due to a strike (it's the 70s!).

I noticed a trailer on Rewind saying that the dire and weak BBC sitcom Game On was going to be repeated on the channel. Please no! They really must be scraping the barrel.

On the positive side, good to hear The Monkees is coming to the channel. Last time it got repeated on UK terrestial Tv was on channel 4 during the 90s. I find it bizarre that hardly any DVDs of the series have been available in the UK.

I saw Peter Tork perform at a festival in Darwen in 2008. He did a few Monkees songs and a couple of his own. He was awesome and really worked the crowd well and enjoyed himself as did we. Sadly only Micky Dolenz survives now.

The Prisoner starts from episode 1 tomorrow (Tuesday) on Rewind. 2pm and 8pm. I recorded the last two episodes onto USB stick from Legend Xtra last year as they are my favourites.

Liana featured in the first eight episodes of The Fantastic Journey.
At the start of episode 9 "Riddles", it is revealed during conversation that Liana stayed behind at the city featured in the preceding episode "Turnabout" to help build the new society there and would be catching up with the group soon.
In reality, Katie Saylor was ill and retired from acting after this series.
One of the many reasons that the show never got a season 2 as it had lost its female lead.

I've recorded every Deparyment S onto a usb stick but Friday's episode was faulty. I was perplexed to see it finish 10 minutes early but then, after the closing credits, it resumed and showed the last ten minutes again. I went onto X to point it out to Rewind saying I hoped they'd correct it for Sunday's repeat but today it was the same. Its on again at midnight so maybe third time lucky.
