What were your thoughts on the Pistols --in '77 and today, they still perform in their mid-50s on occassion-------then, Alan?

I thought they were necessary for the times Rab! Music circa 1975=76 both in singles & LP charts really seemed to stagnate in that era! The NME was running a "Great Debate" special letters forum during late 75 early 76 on the state of UK music such was the problem. I know there were a lot of `stunts` pulled by McLaren but the core thrust of the Pistols and what ensued really got me interested again!
Not surprised they are still playing today- just a part of getting older! When the Damned were doing some gigs a couple years back - Rat Scabies (Chris Miller) said- half jokingly- "Help! I've become the Boring Old Fart I'd once set out against!!" There Y' Go!

Dave Vanian out of the Damned has put on the beef, Alan!

I like the idea of the Sex Pistols still gigging, 'The Swindle Continues' that's face they didn't make any money after they split in 1978, so good for them for making some money now and it's the original Sex Pistols as well with Glen Matlock on bass.

Vicious hardly contributed anything to the group other than looking the part and a few shock tactics.

Glen Matlock and John Rotten/Lydon wrote well together! McClaren wanted Sid in just for image purposes! I never liked the Clash at all! Too `Right on` and `playing at politics` Found their singles very boring!
I won the Damned's "Neat, Neat Neat" on E.Bay recently! I'll take that over all the Clash's stuff! Rated the Buzzcocks very highly as well!
We had a local `Punk Outfit` in Wolverhampton called the `Snotty Snails` but they didn't even release a record before splitting!
