Hi Guys

Post by Dunder Ed »

Let me introduce myself, my name is Jude and have been a British humour comic collector for a few years now. I have a fairly large collection of Dandy and Beano comics and annuals, as well as a lot of IPC comics and annuals. My favourite decades are the 60s and 70s which I feel are the golden era of classic comics. I hope to be able to add things to this website, but I also hope to be able to learn many things from you guys aswell.

Thank you for your warm welcomes.

That certainly won't be the last time someone says to Hey Jude

And if your wondering Dunder Ed is a character from the Cracker. I can post some scans.

Drawn by the great Phil Millar who has been mentioned in these forums previously. My one and only professional script was published in the Cracker so the comic will always be dear to me - met the editor a couple of times in Fleet Street. I used to work in Fleet Street and would always gaze at the DC Thomson building in awe. I worked for the Sporting Life, Sunday Mirror and Melody Maker and Disc at vaious times in the early 70s. Still remember my first weekly wage packet of £16.

Welcome to comics UK Jude - and don't be obscure. (there's one he's never heard before).

Here is that Dunder Ed strip I promised. He appeared in the first Cracker comic and lasted to the last one. Although he missed a few issues he was a regular in the comic, and the artist was Phil Miliar as Steve has stated.

I had a script accepted for Hector the Collector which involved him collecting boxes. I have every issue of Cracker.
