Excuse me? Last time I checked, William was picking up a wage from the military.

The last time I checked the military was funded by the tax payer.

Yeah, but he's earning his keep, not sponging off us.

Sounds like an attempt to bury bad news - the last Dandy tomorrow - lets announce a royal pregnancy to take the nation's mind off it. No?

So, he's living in a terraced house in Daventry? A modest second-hand car in keeping with his wages? No exotic holidays abroad?

Can't believe anyone is excited by this news. It's as relevant as a retirement party in Eastenders. Nothing but froth and nonsense for the easily led.

Just heard that tomorrow's Daily Mail has 14 pages on the subject - they must have been prepared for the news.

When I heard the news I just shouted "big deal!"

Like the Royal wedding & Jubilee just a means of the news papering over the cracks of the reality of the mess this country's in!

The Royal family are just another privileged family to me. Just figureheads for British tourism.

When Wills & Kate got married I just went out for a walk & found a pub with no TV & other like mined people in it (were virtually zero street parties in Bolton & few interested). I couldn't stay at home as housmate was in & watching it & making his woman friend watch it too.

I was reading an annual I'd collected when I accidently caught at bit of Jubilee coverage & listening to Fearne Cottonhead going on about royal sickbags. I had to reach for the remote before I needed one.

Great news! I'll be following with interest. Considering how long medical science allows people to 'hang around' these days, this baby may get the chance to be monarch!

What's so funny? My point was he earns his keep, he's not sponging off the taxpayer - unlike certain other royals.

I'm surprised this thread didn't end up talking about that hoax call to the hospital, actually.
