Hmm. I can see mothers eyes glazing over when their children demand it!
Re: Strip Magazine - Who's buy the first issue?
I doubt children will even be aware of it, since it's only in comic book stores and online and not in newsagents and supermarkets.

Do Forbidden Planet (not International) get Diamond comics? The one in Cambridge haven't had The Iron Moon in yet, and when I asked about it they'd never heard of it. Mind you I couldn't remember the name of the publisher or distributor, I ought to ask again
Re: Strip Magazine - Who's buy the first issue?
In a word, yes. Every comic shop that sells current US comics is Diamond distributed. Ask, and about three weeks later, they'll get it in for you.

I telephoned Forbidden Planet Belfast on Saturday morning to enquire about ordering it.I had the order code ready but didnt need it as a helpful chap called Mal was already aware ofStrip Magazine and said that they had already orders for it.
Some good news for a change.

Although there wont be loads of kids in most comic only shops there will be a few - In Glasgow's 2 main comic shops at least; AI comics and Forbidden Planet, there are always lots of kids in with families and young teenagers in with there mates or on there own. My only concern would be will they know its available (this relates to whether it is in a a specialist shop or in WH Smiths) how will it be advertised?

Page 45 comic shop in Nottingham have placed a regular order for me.
Re: Strip Magazine - Who's buy the first issue?
I'm looking forward to trying out Strip Magazine. Sounds and looks like it could be good.
I wonder what the logic is in only having the first few available in comic shops, though. Wouldn't people who buy things in newsagents be more likely to buy it from a first issue, rather than one that's several weeks into its serials, if that's the first time they'll see it?

I think they're going for comic shops earlier because it's easier, and they can get feedback from enthusiastic readers (IE the people who will buy it from comic shops!) before they launch to the wider public.
Also the first public issue is going to be a re-start with a new set of stories, so the first 6 will form a self-contained run. I might bind 'em!

Only a few days now till the launch date, I'm getting excited but there's still not much information out there for it, I'm wondering if it's actually gonna happen, also, funny that the launch date is Thursday when "new comics day" is now on a Wednesday in comic shops, presumably it'll actually be delivered to comic shops on Wednesday with the rest of stores order.

Bad news. Strip Mag will not be out tomorrow as planned.
See the website for more details.
Shame I was all set to get it tomorrow.

Annoying but not that surprising, never mind, we've been waiting years for a new British adventure comic so another few days/weeks wont hurt!.
