Any subscribers got their first issue yet?

I've been waiting over two weeks for my first mailing. What's your experience?

I put my sub in a few weeks ago but have been waiting since last Thursday.

However, this is what I got from Facebook:

Strip Magazine UK : We're very conscious that delays to planned publication dates disappoint readers. Strip is printed in Bosnia and was on time for the announced publication date - but we are finding, despite now working with better couriers, that Customs and other links in the delivery chain still confiund our plans. Right now, we're looking at ways to surmount this, but it will take time to build more delivery schedule allowances into our existing plans. All that said, we're still getting re-orders for #1 , so the actual pub date doesn't seem to matter a jot to some retailers!

It will come eventually.

Customs? Sounds like printing abroad wasn't such a good idea.

TBH, I would rather they print abroad and we have a mainstream comic than they print here and have it go bust within months due to escalating price of publishing. While I am grumpy that I haven't got my copy yet, I am pleased to see that the comic has done so well that the print run had to be expanded to meet demand.

As a matter of interest, does anyone know how many of the first issue were printed?

I think the blokes at customs ought to just subscribe themselves, then they won't keep holding it up while they read it!

In related news the facbeook page says that issue 2 will be on shops from the 14th.

Hopefully I'll get my copy then before heading up north for Christmas.

I agree with colcool007 though and I'm glad it is doing so well.

Besides, wouldn't life being boring if everything went without a mishap? :D

Mine pitched up last week. And it was worth the wait. I love the John Ridgway art. I haven't seen anything of his in colour since the Luke Kirby story in 2000AD way back in the early 90's. Now all we need is a IK cover and I'll be happy!

Did you subscribe or get your copy via comic shop, colcool007?

My issue one was bought from Forbidden Planet. I have yet to set up the subscription.

Still nothing either. I'll wait a week before asking. Not too bothered when I get it, just as long as it eventually arrives.

I just picked up issue no.2 from my local Forbidden Planet, though they only had one other copy for sale this month.

Nothing for me either but then again it is getting near Christmas??

Hopefully it will be waiting for me when I get back from my Xmas Break.

But if I get too impatient, I may pop down to my local FP on Saturday to see if they are selling any copies.
