8) New World for Old (25/5/68) - (16/11/68)
Intergalactic adventure and Jag's first cover strip (25/5-20/7). In the year 3209 AD two policemen are escorting two convicted felons to a prison planet when a space hurricane throws their spacecraft off course and into a galaxy swithcing, stellar vortex. Ultimately crash landing on a far distant world, to their astonishment, they find themselves surrounded by strange reminders of Earth's history as they encounter not only the inhabitants of the New British Empire but also a colony of what appear to be not so ancient, Ancient Romans.

9) Football Family Robinson (27/7/68) - (29/3/69)
Comedy football yarn and not only Jag's second, and last, cover strip but also the paper's most successful if longevity is the criteria.
Thatchem United, a tiny, struggling 4th Division side, have one claim to fame. They are owned, operated by and have a playing staff made up entirely of the members of one sprawling family, the Robinsons. And any problems they have on the field are more than matched by those they have off as they have to deal with crooked Max Sharkey, a local businessman who hungrily eyes their ground as a prime site for a new supermarket.

Art - Joe Colquhoun

JA 1970-1973

Football Family Robinson continued to appear in the combined Tiger & Jag until 5/10/74 with artwork by Joe Colquhoun and John Gillatt.

12) MacTavish and O'Toole (11/1/69) - (29/3/69)
Tongue-in-cheek Commando yarn. The War-time exploits of two sergeants of Number 3 Commando Unit who lay their personal differences aside, most of the time, in order to fight the common foe.

Art - Geoff Campion 11/1-1/3, Alan Philpott 8/3-29/3

JA 1970-1973

MacTavish and O'Toole continued to appear, under that title, in the combined Tiger & Jag until (29/11/69). All artwork for these Tiger & Jag strips was by Jim Bleach.

13) The Vanishing Champions (22/2/69) - (29/3/69)
Reprint time for a story with a plot nearly as old as boy's papers themselves. Johnnie Fleetwing, the world decathlon champion, and a number of other star athletes are kidnapped and taken to an isolated location where someone, known only as 'the General', forces them to perform perilous athletic feats.
This was an edited reprint of a Buster strip originally titled 'Athletes of Lost Island' (23/3/63-20/4/63).
