The Wizzo

Post by WizzKid97 »

Sorry, just wanted to make a page for the Wizzo, after all it seems we have some fans and I have some news that may interest you.

I'm sure every single one of you are familiar with the current Bananaman artist Wayne Thompson, but did you know he draws outside of DC Thomson for another comic, a comic also known as the Wizzo? That's right, he asked if he could work for us doing some guest strips. So now he's part of the team, and he is most welcome!

That's a really nice gesture by Wayne. I take my hat off to him for agreeing to draw for the Wizzo.

I have been speaking to him, I'm honoured that he wished to join our comic, an offer I simply could not refuse! Do you mind if I take part in the 'taking my hat off to Wayne'? ;)

Is it only "properly" sold at your school? Maybe one day you could collect together the finished issues in a "Wizzo annual" on a print-on-demand site like Lulu. I like the strips that can be read on deviantart anyway. Especially Imaginitive Imogen

Looks like Wizzo is heading for the big time, attracting name cartoonists.

No, it used to be sold in only our school but this issue we've found ourselves a publisher so we're going to have a comic available on the internet so anyone can buy it! We're going to have an eBook account and when you download the comics it costs you £1.50 or you can buy a printed glossy comic for £3.50. :)

I know! To think only months ago we were just a bunch of young kids making a comic, now everything's changing!

Let's hope so, with lots of artists and even the brilliant Beano Editor, Mike Stirling; I reckon this year will change EVERYTHING!

Let us know when it's available to buy online and I'll order a nice glossy comic. Do love collecting 'small press' comics and fanzines.

I can never get these links to work - can you post the proper permalink, please? (It should be accessible by clicking the title on the deviation page, IIRC - i.e. not going through your gallery, or message centre, or anything else which does that stupid unnecessary zooming-in animation - and takes you straight to the relevant page without a delay while the Javascript redirects you. It doesn't have the character sequence "/#/" in it.)

On a similar note, I see a lot of Twitter links, even on supposedly professional websites, of the form "https://twitter.com/#!/username". That's what you get if you visit a page while logged into your Twitter account - not something everyone has, yet! The proper form is "http://twitter.com/username".

Is that bit at the bottom based on what the Dandy recently started doing?

Yes, we liked the idea, besides, the Viz also uses the character bar at the bottom, seems to be quite popular. I know it may be copying but everything's copied from something at least. :)
