Let me start by saying that this is NOT A REVIEW as I haven't had a chance to read either yet.
A review will follow.
I haven't been on this forum for long in comparison to others so I apologise if what I say is obvious to those more familar with Starscapes' publications.
Starscape Storypaper issue 1:
Imagine the great Astounding stories (not the Alan Class one) combined with the British flair of The early Hotspur, the quality and imagination of Starlord and produced in the 21st century. If it was in shelves next to Commando in Whsmiths I believe it wouldn't stay on shelves for very long. Absolutely fantastic to see something like this, of such quality, released in current years.
I have only read a few paragraphs so far and am completely hooked.
Starscape Planet Earth
Now this is the first of an anthology series collecting strips from ....I'm guessing there is also a Starscape comic book????
I apologise for my ignorance.
What I can tell you, again I have only read a few pages so far, is the art and story telling is right up there with 2000ad but with an originality of it's own.
In conclusion: I'm going to be exploring what is available in the back catalogue and purchasing whatever I can get my hands on.
I thought that ,aside from reprints and 2000ad,there was nothing exciting anymore, that people didn't make good books anymore in this country.
I was wrong.
Starscape makes bloody great books and the dream is alive again.
Starscape Story Paper/ Starscape Planetfall
Re: Starscape Story Paper/ Starscape Planetfall
Unfortunately I have made a terrible fool of myself by simply misunderstanding that Starscape was still going.
Chris is a lovely guy and very kindly updated me.
HOWEVER I still stand by my words....
These books were great books and I'm saddened that they didn't make it.They should have.
